no gas on may 15th
Body: In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, every one should not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

The average car takes about 20 to 30 dollars to fill up now its taking 40 to 50 to fill up

if 73,000,000+ did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil company's pockets for just one day. let me know if anyone is going to do this there is lot of people on myspace that are backing it. gas will be 4.00 soon we have to do something now

don't we all just have to go to the pump and get that much more the next day, thereby doubling oil company profits on that day? just wondering.

actually no. if you just drive less and conserve your gas for that day unless you HAVE to, then the oil companies will not make their profits back the next day it would take about a month(longer if the price does drop) to gain that money back, but hey it's still money that they lose

that's a better idea. stay home for a day. no driving.

Well, I feel nothing for the big oil companies. They fuck up the earth and frequently fuck up indeginous people just so they can get to their oil. And they make obscenely large profits which rarely benefit their ordinary workers while their CEO's are paid millions. In the US they have been in bed with the Republican party for years, and bankrolled Bush's 2 election 'wins' (take a look at what is happening in Alaska right now - Bush has given them permission to rip up one of the most beautiful, unspoilt and supposedly protected parts of North America - that is their payoff).

But guys it has to also be said that Americans should pay a little more for their gas to help the planet. Americans are used to very low gas prices and presidents go to great lengths to keep it that way - including making wars on innocent people. But these low gas prices are unsustainable in the long term. America pumps out 25% of all the worlds pollution. Yeah, that's A QUARTER. Prices need to be set more realistically to get this figure down. Of course the current higher gas prices in the US are not the result of some wise policy by monkey boy Bush. They are the result of unrest in the Middle East due to his spectacular fuck-up there, but that's another story.

I dunno.. anyone agree with me or am I just spoutng bullshit?

oh yeah I agree with that, bush fucked us over. And the people in Alaska will probably protest to all hell, up there seems to have a lot of environmentalists (except the politicians)

let me make a couple points. first for the alaska conflict speaken as someone who has lived in alaska.we already have an oil pipeline an a refineiry which we do recive some of those profits.every year in alaska we recive an additiol 1500 to 2000 dollers just for populaten the place.where does this money come from duh duh duh oil...... also there is so much vastness in alaska that they could do 50 lines an 20 refineries an still have space to spare. now speaken on gas prices americans dont deserve to pay more.those towel heads who your speakin of pay 6 cents a gallon....that seems fair a place that hates most of us aryans gets to pay nothing for something they dont need.
