First of all big up to Hobbes who posted Alcohol Tincture. This is where I got the basics.

I read all of the postes and everything I could find on making this heavenly elixer. But some of the posts had me scared to death. So here is my personal experience.

Ingredients
3.5 to 4 grams Herb
2 oz. High Proof Alcohol (Bacardi 151, Everclear or Golden Grain)

Utensils:
Measuring Cup (glass or pyrex)
Any pot
coffee grinder
wooden chop stick
candy thermometer
mason jar
spoon
strainer
cheese cloth
aluminum foil
30ml Mixing Bottle with pipet
small funnel

Grind herb as fine as you can get it. Place on aluminum foil in a oven that has been preheated at 325. (pick a temp between 275 to 325. I used 275 for my last batch by mistake but to my suprise the end product came out great. ). Let herb bake for (5) five minutes. ( I also use the 'smell' method. I know the herb is ready when the smell starts to intensify. You to will be able to tell by smell because you will undoubtly be watching it like a hawk the your first time.)

While the herb is baking get the alcohol ready. Boil about 3 cups of water in your pot. When the water starts to simmer pour some in the mason jar and then out of the jar to 'temper' it prior to putting the jar into the boiling water. Put the alcohol into the jar that is sitting in the water. Put the thermometer in the jar as well. When the herb is finished baking pour it into the jar and stir with the wooden chopstick. Cook this mix for 20 minutes between 150 and 170 degrees.

While the mix is boiling cut a peice of cheese cloth and drape over the mouth of the measuring cup and place the strainer over the cheese cloth. Now is also a good time to rinse out the mixing bottle with some alcohol.

After the 20 minutes, remove the mason jar and let cool then pour into the strainer. Use the chop stick to remove all the dredges and the spoon to squeeze all the juice out of the dredges.

Pour the strained liquid into the mixing bottles using the funnel for easy pouring.

This gives you about 1.8 oz of a brownish/green liquid. Start by giving your self 1/4 dropper full (about 5-7 drops ) in 8 oz of your favorite drink. Increase dosage up to 3 or 4 droppers per 500 ml of drink.

Always mix this with a drink because the alcohol is strong and burns the tongue.
