DOH shuts down 11th State

Summary: DOH says 11th state must be registered as a "health care facility" (which I assume requires a whole bunch of insurance/bonding and a permit from the state). Shut down until they are in compliance.

Says invalid url for link... can you elaborate what this means for caregivers/patients? Any effect immedietly to card holders?

I don't think it means anything for existing cardholders -- but when you come up for renewal, you better have a backup.

edit: I also imagine they'll do whatever they need to do to get registered as a "health care facility." There's too much $$$ to be made to just bail.

I had an appointment there tomorrow and they rescheduled me. They simply said the doctor wouldn't be in tomorrow.

I tried b&b but just left a message.

Does anyone know of another possibility? My 11th state appointment was made nearly 2 months ago and I'm in real pain

11TH STATE IS STILL RUNNING WITHOUT A HITCH..yes b&b IS ANOTHER OPTION,but I HAD MY RENEWAL ON oCT31ST AND THE article STATES THE INVESTIGATION WAS ON oCT 23RD..i GOT MY RENEWAL CARD ON MONDAY..nO ISSUES AT ALL..11TH STATE had an issue cause they were not registered as a Health Care Facility.

HghFlyrJD1, they've been ordered to close down. They have a hearing on Friday.

I was there earlier in the month for a consultation and I mailed my application in the next day. The Department of Health cashed my $75 check but I haven't received my letter yet. I hope they get this straightened out... Great timing for me of course since my application is being processed while their professional licenses are in question.

Does anyone know if Dr. Pond sees patients outside of 11th state offices?

11th shut down. According to ProJO. . licensing issues. I went before and had no issues and now this? Can't help but think that the health dept. will continue to throw up road blocks in this state. In CA this doesn't happen. Wished i'd stayed put.

@DB: When I called, Dr. Pond was not accepting new patients, which bummed me out.

Thanks, Jay. And westtoeast I called the office today after I got worried about the situation since I'm into this for $375 so far. They took my call, said they are open and not to be concerned, and took my information and assured me I would be getting a call back from somebody with more specific information. They may have a game plan to get the violation thrown out at their hearing, which is tomorrow.

I'll pass on any new information.

They cancelled my appointment for tomorrow (2nd reschedule!), when I asked if everything was ok with the business they assured me it was ???

So is B and B is my only other option?

11th State did not return my phone call, but my application was approved by the Dept. of Health. Sounds like I was one of the last to make it out of there before they stopped making appointments. If they cancelled you and didn't reschedule you, I would move on. Hopefully by this time in a couple years when we all have to renew there will be more reliable medical providers in the area.

They did reschedule me for Jan 4th but like I said, this is my 2nd reschedule. I will be checking out B and B if they call me again to cancel my appointment on the 4th.

DO NOT USE DR POND. Read all the articles about 11th state and their licensing issues--'based on information received from Dr. Pond an investigation into 11th state was started". Dr. Pond is not a friend to the MMJ program. Check out another agency before you consider going to him.

All is well with 11th state..They won the court case regarding this issue...The The DOH causing issues for no reason.

But where's the link for this? I think 11th state was a top notch organization that went by the book--the DOH investigated them based on Dr. Pond's report. To me Dr. Pond is not trustworthy and started this entire mess. Read golocalprov--it's clear that on october 23rd dr. pond's report started the investigation. Therefore -- do not trust this physician.
