yea strain after the movie but im sure the strain was in existence before just not named pinapple express its probably some private stock they busted out that no one had and renamed it or somthing. All i know is every grow i have seen with it has blown my mind especially scotty balls grow jesus man 30 main colas almost a half ounce a piece lol off of one plant.

Let me know if/when you get your beans and we can do a journal together. I think I am going to be testing SmokenGrow on them in 5 gal. DWC...least a few of them...

I found a good LED panel and its blowing my 400w hps out of the water like nobodys business. i've got a 2x3 table filled with thirty 2.5 foot sourdcross (not sure with what but?) and man i can predict at least a half pound no problem and that is a low guestimate. I guess it goes to shw if you do your research you can find an LED for under 300 bucks that will put a 400w hps to shame. I've never had plants grow this fast or this chunk before in the amount of time i've had them in for. I'll probably be doing water farm or my ebb and flow hydro table again or maybe soil.

Man, i gotta ask since we had this problem in this thread but what is with people and the spread of misinformation. I called sombody out earlier on makin fem seeds. They said doing it with CS garantees 100% of the time 100% fem seeds with no herm EVER. HAHA i said something and guess what i got reamed out by everyone in the thread. I was like WTF REALLY!!! I mean everyone knows its possible to herm a fem seed. I told this guy if he said 99% were female i would believe him but he was like NAH NEVER EVER EVER WILL I GET A HERM OR I GET FIRED, lol. Fuck some people shouldnt be allowed to play with pollen until they pass a test or some shit....

I once spent the same for an IBL, Afghani strain, a true breeding strain, from Dutch Flowers several years ago. In some ways, spending top dollar for these expensive ass beans is akin to buying a patent or a software license-- getting the rights to top notch shit that's a few years of its time...Hopefully you'll get a good return off this investment!

And I am definitely going to be collecting pollen and keeping clones of the females just in case. At least make more beans to play with besides the 5 remaining.

A recap of the first month coming with the update tomorrow. I will tell you all this. Just going to bump the timer back 2 more hours tomorrow taking it to 14/10 for a week the the final change to 12/12. And going to be air layering the tops on 3 and 5!

LED technology has come along way in just the last year. Plasma lighting coming on strong also. You are a wise one to keep an open mind and be willing to step outside of the circle. Grow on bro!!!!!!

Good morning all. Hope you had a great Xmas and have a safe New Years....


Ok here we go.....
The start:

5 beans were planted on 11/29 directly into peat pellets soaked in a light solution of Superthrive and Awesome Blossoms. 3 sprouted in under 48hrs and all were up in just under 72hrs. All were planted into qt. pots on 12/2. And made it to 3 gallon pots on 12/26.

The mix:

1/2 gal worm castings
1 Tablespoon each:
greendand
rock phosphate
azomite
kelp meal
blood meal
bone meal
high P guano
high N guano
rare earth
1/2 Tablespoon epsom salts
2 Tablespoons dolomite
2 qts perlite

For seedlings I mix it 50-50 with just some straight C-1P. Some strains I know that can handle a bit hotter medium can be put into uncut mix from seed. The first watering is a casting tea to kick things off and just rain water for the next few weeks. I do use some blackstrap also from time to time.

Fafards C-1P is my base. Nothing more than peat moss and perlite 80/20. Very sterile and clean mix.

The nutes:

Started off thinking organic but quicky switched gears to FoxFarms. And anything else I have around that needs to be used up.

The lights:

The 1st week was spent under a T-8 mix of 4500k and 6500k bulbs. Since then they have been under 400 watt Hortilux Super HPS. 2 weeks at 18/6. Then last week dropped it to 16/8. And today will move it to 14/10. Next Friday being the final drop to 12/12. The last few weeks of flower holds a suprise in lighting. And no telling either Dudeoflife! LOL

Its been a great first month. Thanks to all that are following for their comments and support.

Today and tomorrow I will be doing some cloning. Air layering and conventional(I will add a midweek post to show what I did). That is one reason I decided just to drop 2 more hours from the schedule. 14/10 should be a short enough photoperiod to still allow some build up of flowering hormones. But yet long enough not to slow the clones too much from rooting. Plus a bit of recovery time.

They recovered well from being potbound and the transplant. All in all I have to give them an A as far as germination and veg goes. Lets just hope they continue to show the same vigor in flower.

Probaly the strongest looking of the group.

Still shows the most color. Just too light to capture with the camera.

Starting to lean towards it being male myself. It may be the first cull once sexed.

Still falls kinda inbetween 1 and 2.

Has a little of each trait. And the tallest. Lots of vigor.



Group:

For anyone that thinks vegging un HPS will stretch them has never used a Hortilux before. The enhanced spectrum of the Super HPS does a wonderful job. And i know most think they are expensive. But if you shop around they can be found for around 80 bucks. Worth the money IMO.

good looking plants. In my last two and only grows the tallest ones were all male. they looked just like that group shot. I had two that were similar in size and three that were alot taller. do males allways grow faster? is there some fact to this hearsay?

Thanks. And from my experience there is some truth to males growing a bit taller, faster and showing sex first. But not set in stone. SO many variables. In this case the 2 taller plants are a bit more Sativa dominant so time will tell.

the general thought about males is that they need the
extra height to be at an advantage to pollinate and
pass their genes on... But YEAH not set in stone as
a fact...

As for the size vigor for sex determination...I had two bagseeds way back and one grew faster n bigger than the other so of course I thought it was the male and the shorter less vigorous was female...WRONG...exactly the opposite
