doesn't smell that dank??

i have a purple monster growing in my backyard. It is doing qiute well and is probably about 3 weeks into flowering. The crystals are just starting to form on the leaves around the buds. It is looking very nice but the only problem is when i walk over to smell it, it doesn't really smell that dank. It kinda doesn't smell like anything. im probably just freaking out but i don't wan't to end up with purple regs or beasters.

Also, why exactly do people end up with shitty buds? Is that mainly because of the curing process or is regs always gonna be regs?

Try rubbing some of the crystals with your thumb and then smell your thumb. I'll bet it will smell excellent.

Yes, you are correct. Theres no such thing as genetically shitty weed. It ALL can be great as long as its handled properly. The reason why shwag weed is shwag, is because of the way it was dried, cured, packaged and shipped.

Yeah man my girls arent stinking yet either, no worries though, they will soon enough.
Mine dont really start to reek until a couple weeks before harvest

my girls are flowering and they are smelling like ripe cantaloupe/honeydew it smells so good i give them molasses and fox farm big bloom

rub the stem with your index finger nd thumb then smell your thumb..... then tell me you cant smell anything?

your girls are gonna stink here pretty soon...the fragrance is concentrated in the trichs for most strains.

There are very weak strains out there, usaully bred from bagseed i suppose.
But for the most part, Dude is correct when he says shwag was probly good weed when it was grown. That mexican sativa can be a killer, if you grow it at home.

The only really bad homegrown i have seen over the years came from a buddy of mine who grew some seeds from the previous years grow. he mistakenly thought his male had pollinated his girls. After planting and caring for them all summer he had a huge harvest.
One problem though, it was crossed with the wild weed that grows around here.
He had 2 pounds of headache causing fireweed.

So yeah if you want to be sure, buy quality seeds from a reputable seedbank.

that's not really true, Marijuana stains contain varying amounts of THC. Its a proven fact that Potency of weed on the streets double and some cases tripled in potency over the last 30 years. So some strains contain less THC than others.

I couldnt smell my girls either.....but then i realized it was because i was alwys high....... you know u cant smell it if u smoked it.... i can smell em now tho...a hint of ganj...

I never said that each stain is equally potent did I? I'm saying that theres no strain in existence that its shitty (at least not that I've ever seen or heard of). Yes, some strains will have more Trichomes than others... but that doesn't mean the "others" are shitty.

Not taking any sides of the issue, but what I read from AL B FUCT. He said that back in the day the cops, and other would take everything seeds, stems, and weed to test the THC. He said back them they would sell you all sorts of crap inside the weed, like the trimmings and everything so the numbers were off.
