Does this very cheap LED unit (including driver) interest you?

Some background:

In my search for good deals on led's and driver I've found a factory selling these overstock.
These units where build into a commercial fixture in 2015 (modern leds), but these fixtures where taken out of production because the company changed focus and thus their product-line discontinued.
I can get them at wholesale price including driver as long as they are in stock.
Just wanted to share with you guys because you've been very helpfull to me.

These are the only specs I got:

If these are total shit, can someone please explain why? (I was thinking about buying a couple as side lights, as they are really cheap imo..)

Getting some cheap lights would be hella nice! I hope some knowledgeable friends can answer this, count me interested in how this turns out

@Jubilant I have found some more information:

I found the catalog from this exact product line from which the code begins with LM.
There are several different led boards but they are all single row boards, none of them match with this one, the LM400 code, which the factory responded with: because it's custom built for them.
The length of the board and SMD quantity etc differs but general information needed for you guys should be there or at least some of it which should help determine if this is any good to us.

I also found out that these light units come from a manufacturer in retail market and seems very expensive (high quality items).
These were used by top lighting fixture manufacturers in Europe in 2015.

Search for LM then you should find different data sheets there.
If i break down the code then the numbers of the code should represent the following information: LM 400 (length of the smd row) /44(width of the board) 96(SMD quantity)

You can even see warranty that the factory gives out to customers: 7 years 3% failure rate and 10 years 5% failure rate, which seems like a high quality product to me (correct me if I'm wrong)!

Seems they are comparable with some efficient Samsung/Osram smd5630 stripes. (Digikey)
~45-46% effiency is not bad for such stripes...
Where's the price point..?

The price should be around $9-$11 per strip, including driver!

I'd say buy a few at that price. I'm using the Samsung smd5630 strips for veg and side lighting and I love them. nice diffused light from the multiple point sources means plants can get really close like T5.

Yeah they can work fine for top-lighting too... especially in a height restricted space. For this very reason I use them in my small veg space and my little flower tent too. They can make a great panel for sure and of course they get more efficient the softer you drive them. Nextlight make panels using similar strips - I think they use the Samsungs.

I'm getting some, when I get them I will update this thread with some detail pics and first impression.

Got 2 of them Attached some pics of the drivers and strips.. had no time to connect them yet tho, but will do very soon.

The Citizen CLU048-1212C4 has superior specs and you can get it from cobkits.com for $12 with the RIU discount.

in my opinion thats like comparing apple's to oranges.

1st of all, the $9-$11 is including driver.
2nd of all, a COB is just 1 point which emits light into a certain footprint. This strip will cover a bigger area, and is more suitable for other stuff like vegging clones, and as side lights.

@OLD MOTHER SATIVA it sure is a great deal, these are AA+++ quality products, not B-quality Chinese strips.
These are wholesale prices on a limited stock (couple of thousands tho). The shipping is also very cheap worldwide because these weigh close to nothing.

Just reading through the document - I think you have a winner here. Page 22 has peaked my interest.

I am in to give them a run depending on the cost of course. Where to order? If anything, they are great parts.

Since they are ISO certified by an independent 3rd party, it means that all of their manufacturing processes are auditable and traceable. Simply, that is a very good thing for the safety conscience.
