I started 12/12 on 12 30 11... I did some rather aggresive prunning on jan 4th ish to really let the light generate some good underneath groth to the top. Then I went to lowes and got 50 ft of 9 gauge hanger wire to tie down all the major branches makes lst and a cinch. But I feel like my progress is slow. Do you consider the first 12/12 the first day of flower or the first day you see a hair? I have a 1000w hps but the weather has been perfect for the last couple days so why waste money when I can put it on gods tab.... My problem is if I put it into flower on 12/30/11 shouldnt I have seen twice as many hairs.... Or do I look right on track?
Oh and by the way the strain is AKS from world of seeds.. pure inica

Your plants seemed mature enough when you started, and there is like a week or two transition (my opinion) before I start to count it as "in flower". So based on your 12/12 date, I'd say your right on track.

I went from 640 to 1000 ppm over the last to weeks but the roots took a little hit for it... They browned up a bit so I have backed off... I ddnt see anything as far as burn on the leaves so maybe I am trippin and the nutes are coloring them. take a look and tell me what you think. 007.jpg008.jpg001.jpg002.jpg003.jpg010.jpg009.jpg

okay so I have two of the same strain different seeds in the same bucket but they are flowering two different ways one looks normal but this one is was put into flower on the 1/15 and the pistols started receding...? Normal or not 181.jpg183.jpg184.jpgthe last pic is the other plant see the diff in pistols? they are 2 weeks apart in flower

No not normal. Also, notice the new growth is kinda off. Yellow and twisty. Could be anything from nute issues to bugs to burnt from lights (or god forbid, pollen got it). Start with the obvious firsts. Lights to close? Got a 30x or better loupe to examine it ?

No it the first day of 12/12.
My problem is if I put it into flower on 12/30/11 shouldnt I have seen twice as many hairs
of course they should be nearly done( 7 weeks).
Or do I look right on track?
not really bro you may have light leaks or messing up light schedule with outdoor.

Yet again, another time when post count means nothing.
Jphezz, flowering start will get you about 50/50 on answers. Some count same day, some count when it shows sex along with 12/12. I myself count after showing cause if you go by the above response and grew 12/12 from seed, well it still needs to reach sexual
maturity before it flowers. This is why I don't count from first 12/12 day. Alternating nodes and preflowers can clue you in on maturity of a plant though. Glad you caught the issue with the pump.
As for using free light (sun), as long as your doing so within your normal lighting schedule you shouldn't have problems. The bigger issue is temp and humidity changes as well as the risk of exposing your girls to bugs.
With the first post you were on track at 4 weeks (again counting from switch not factoring in transition time), then the pump issues and odd growh, they have slowed. Try not to base harvest on the calendar anyway. If your counting days for personal reference, then cool. Just watch for issues, feed accordingly and play the waiting game for harvest dates. Most importantly, be careful with any advice given before acting upon it. Make sure you confirm advice either by many people agreeing on a solution or by researching whatever issue you run in to.
