Hey guys, I'm very very new to growing and this is my first attempt to just dip my feet in. I only have one seedling and it's on day 5 after sprouting. It's color seems a little off to me though for this early in the grow, not sure if this is over/under watering. I've been letting it dry then watering it. Or a nute problem. I'm using black gold natural for my soil and two 55w cfl 5000k natural lights about 1 inch from the plants. The pictures are day 5 and begging of day 6.20140319_000350.jpg20140319_001400.jpg20140319_092209.jpg

Is it Black gold all purpous potting soil your using? if so, its got nutes in it. Quote from Black Gold themselves "According to our technical specialists, Black Gold All Purpose Potting Soil is not OMRI listed because it contains a chemical fertilizer"

So, if its that, then too much feed.

It could be Temps aswell if they are low, 75 - 86 F is the best temps to grow in.

Wait, what?

I'm no expert, but that seems like a lot of light for a five day old seedling. I used a 40 watt cfl sometimes and it's pretty hot

110w is nothing for veg. I am currently using a 250w for veg. Has been on it since it sprouted. Although 1" away from the plant is awfully close, probably should move it a few inches away.

But you are right, no plant can use that much light as a seedling.

OP, what is the problem here? You said the color looks off for a plant so young. I dont really know what that means can you explain.

Your plants look fine to me. Dont see any issues with coloring. Just let them grow.
