As far as the smell, some plants it comes and goes. Mine had no smell until about a month ago, then they quit for a week, then starting to smell enough that when the wind isn't blowing, every now and then you can catch a whiff of them.
I have noticed that my Sativa smells different than the Indica though.

My two plants are about 5 weeks old now on my first grow. A couple of weeks ago, when they were under 24 hours of light, they smelled like pot. Then I switched to 12/12 a couple of days ago, and they're in a grow tent. The smell completely changed immediately, as it gets very humid in there at night and the walls of the tent are damp in the morning. They also smell damp and musty when I first open the tent. Not so nice! But by the time they dry out an hour later, they smell a little more like pot, but still not as strong as before. At some point I'm hoping that they get their pot smell back. Not only is it nicer than the damp/musty smell, it's a promise of days to come...

Hopefully, it will come back soon. This is the only enjoyment I have :( and tea I make with trimmed lower fan leaves :D

have you ever check humidity at night, mine used to climb above 80. I shocked when I realized it, then bought a dehumidifier :) The best way to keep molds away :P
