Does maturity or flushing cause late yellowing?

This is a simple question but I havent figured it out yet. Is the late nitrogen deficiency which is normal during the final stages of flowering caused just by the plant maturing and starting to die off or is ut just caused by the grower flushing the plant at the end of the cycle?

If it is caused naturally, is the yellowing a good indicator of when to start flushing?

Thanks alot!

The yellowing of the leaves means that the plant is sucking the rest of the nitrogen out of the lower leaves to continue bud growth. It is normal for that to happen but if you feed some nitrogen throughout flowering than the leaves will stay green until harvest

so is it usually just the result of people using bloom nutes which are too low in nitrogen?

Yeah they have some nitrogen in them but the plant could use a little more N for bud growth. I use cal-mag + instead of a veg nute

Tom 420 is dead on the money.I always add a small amount of nitrogen during flowering. If you use tiger bloom and jamaican guano they have enough nitrogen to stop that

hmm. I noticed that calmag is rated 2-0-0 and wondered if it would do the veg job..

Im using floranova bloom which I have read needs to be supplemented with calmag anyway, so this combo will likely prevent yellowing in my case I guess. Good to know...
