Hey all,

Before i start, yes i searched it, but there is no definitive answer everyone says yes, no, maybe.

WILL TOPPING INCREASE THE BUD YIELD OF MY PLANT, GIVING ME A BIGGER HARVEST? YES OR NO? WHY?

sorry for the caps but that is all i want the answer to, yes or no and why.
no other thread i could find could give me an answer. i am outdoors and there is NO HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS on my plants.

so can you guys please give me a definitive answer on this? for outdoors growing is it really worth it for the stress on the plant or not?

cheers :blsmoke:

Topping will give you 2 main colas versus one.
You decide.
Does that sound like you'll get an increased yield?
Make sure you do it right if you do it..

topping means like, cutting its so 2 branches grow right? if so, then totally, id do it a few times during veg to get more branches... then you get more budsites... but only if you have em in big pots or really good soil, and fed well. just my opinion.

well i don't know what the strain is, just bag seed, i think maybe i will top 1 or 2 and if it seems to handle it ok then do the others

If its an outdoor variety it will do good with topping and be more bushy in the end
but it does slow them down a bit for a while so depends on how long your chucking them out there for :)
but i know your an aussie, so try it with a few and leave a few others and make up your own mind maybe =D

Im experimenting with mine too because it really can depend on the strain
so sus it out, take some cuttings later so you keep the strain then next year go crazy =D

but yeah i think with the long cycle, topping would turn out pretty good hopefully for us =D

If you have enough room turn the plant on its side and keep the main growing tip close to the round all the branches will produce huge collas rather than medium ones

Topping Marijuana- Topping a plant refers to cutting off the top shoot(s) of cannabis plants. You can pinch, clip or snip off the tallest shoots or the freshest shoots. Cut the branch stem just below the last fully developed node,. The plant starts developing branches at the remaining nodes. This is a good techniques to keep a plant short and bushy. Or you can develop many top colas instead of just one. Don't top a plant more than twice and never top when it is in the flowering

I too have a question regarding topping, if you do decide to top will the THC production be equally distributed through out all the buds in that plant?

can u explain tht por favor :?
its more of an outdoor technique you plant the plant sideway in the groun and keep tying them down picture if you had 10 arms and if you were laying on the groun and you were tryin to hug the sky.........it works great you get all the light to inside of the plan:mrgreen:bongsmilie
