I have well water and its kind of hard, i know it has a good bit of iron and limestone in it. After awhile can the hard water cause a buildup of minerals in the soil? im on my second grow and ive noticed about half way through flowering my plants always start to look like they have some nutrient issues. i'm wondering of the hard water can cause this?

yea dude a bad PH balance will fuck u up....it did it to me this year cause i was lazy and never checked it...go get a ph tester adj kit from a hydro store that will give u a bottle of solution to test it and 2 bigger bottles to adj the PH up and down

Yes hard water can lock out minerals, mainly Mg (magnesium), Me (manganese) and Fe (iron). A good test to see if the water is causing too high a PH is to temporarily force it down with white vinegar. 1 to 2 Tbs. per gallon will be enough. If lockout is happening, you'll see an immediate improvement in leaf color and growth speed from the lower PH water. This method works well with soilmix in containers, but with water culture methods you'll probably need a more permanent PH down product to see improvements.
