does c02 really work? in your opinions

ok been using c02 for the last 2 grows..i have it coming on 1hr before lights go on and turns off 1hr before the lights go off...it is set to .5..i have a 7x7 tent with 1 1k light with plants growing under a 4x4 area..also have a fan and a AC unit in there as well..temps range from 75-85 and 55-65 when they are sleeping..i just don't see what the fuss is about...my c02 turns on when the ppm is lower than 900 and it turns off when ppm reaches 1400..from my last grow..i got about 20oz off 16 plants..all in 2 gallon pots..i went for more plants in smaller pots so I didn't have to veg as long..so instead of vegging for a long time, I went more for a sea of green..got about 1oz per plant give or take..but I don't know..now I only have 4 plants under the 1k light in 5gal pots and I don't really see any kind of crazy growth and im only a few weeks away from harvest...any thoughts would help..

Your temps are too low. U shouldnt let them drop below 81 when the lights are on.
Ps: your tent is totally sealed and that fan isnt an exhaust fan is it?

he would answer but the exhaust fan killed him with co2 poisoning. lol. j/k i think it depends on strain and current setup to be honest. for co2 to work properly shit has to be a little more dialed in.

hey bro..i know my temps can be a lot higher while using c02..maybe ill raise them then..i am not using an exhaust fan either..just a circulating fan and my AC is a dehumidifier and AC in 1...so it doesn't suck out any c02..my tent should be pretty close to sealed..either way..if not completely..the c02 monitor tells it to turn on when its too low..so even if the tent was open then I would get a constant flow of c02..but that's not the case..there are vents in the tent that cant be sealed but like I said it wouldn't matter as my monitor will turn on the c02 if lower than 900..

say bro..like I said im not using an exhaust fan..it could be the strain tho like you said...my set up is pretty straight..it is dialed in as well..i have the lines that run above the lights that spit out c02..i even bought a longer tube (with holes) so I can run it closer to the plants and what not..that still hasn't really done much..i don't know?>

Christ bro!! 20w per sq foot?! I see this time and time again and its pissin me off. I jus cant figure out why people try to grow in the shade. YES it can be done...but Why wud yu waste the time?!

Is yall jus misinformed? Seriously, im really curious..
More light = more buds.
More space = more light.
More space DOES NOT = more buds

Yu sir have got Low temps and not even close to enugh light. Try adding 2 more 1ks or some 600s.
FWIW, I wudnt run anything less than 50w per sq foot. 100w with co2.

Sorry, yes co2 works without a doubt. Do as i said, and yu will see a great increase in quality and quanity. Jus fyi thou, yu shud lower yur temps near the end of flower to avoid airy buds.

Sir KK (again)

wassup man..well the 7x7 tent is only big enough so I have space to move around in and have a fan and AC and c02 tank etc etc...yea I understand the bigger space doesn't equal bigger buds. and I know that some light is being wasted...I don't have the bread to be runnin 2 or 3 1k lights..

how much light do you actually have in use? i use 1000 watts for each 4x4 area or 16 sq ft. maybe 25 sq ft max with a 1000 if i had a big ass xxxl hood and a really nice bulb. also how many sq ft of the tent are you actually using?

say during the bulk up stages around the last third of flower
i think the first 1/3 of flower is best served by mh or cmh - to reduce stretch (i prefer cmh)
the second 1/3 is best served by hps - to give you rock hard buds (prefer eye hortilux)
the final 1/3 is best served by mh or cmh - to best take advantage of the final bulk up stage

thery only (if you notice i started wit I think cant proove it not a fACT)

I N I

I have only 1 1k light in use..the only reason I have a bigger tent with only 1 light is so I can have room for other pieces of equipment..i have a 4x4 flood tray that I put my babies in, which are in pots, but I use the tray as a place to collect my excess water..and the hood is really big too..its a xxl or xxxl..as far as light, im only using what the distance of a 1k can provide sufficiently..bout a 4x4 area..the rest of the space is just space..empty space

The optimum amount of C02 for your plants try to keep your around 1500 while lights are on temps can be a little higher, but try and keep it between 77 - 80 also make sure the tent is sealed completely and you Will notice a difference,

To use co2 to its potential temps need to be above 80 like someone said... i use co2 all the time. My buds even on the bottom of plants are rock solid. then you can tell the plants love it cause every single leaf is standing upward an perky all the time. Co2 off for the day you see lower leafs kinda just hangin there compared to strait to the light.

CO2 works for me. I yielded 2 pounds running an undercurrent hydro setup under 1000 watts using CO2. Also only had 4 plants.

1kw in a 4x4 is plenty, assuming you keep your light decently close. The whole watts per square foot really doesn't tell you much, because a 250w can light a 4x4 better than 3x1000s if they're far enough away. Plant size, trellising, and light distance from the canopy are a lot more important than a general watt/sqft measurement.

There are better posts about this, but I didn't want to link to another site.

1000 watt. 18-24 inches max from tops for me. but less for my big xxxl hood. about 8-12 inches from the glass on the regular.
