Does anyone use antidepressants and continue to smoke marijuana? Panic attack

Hello friends. I started having panic attacks 1 year ago and I have never used antidepressants. Once in a while I try to smoke marijuana and have a panic attack. I don't want to give up cannabis because of this damn disease and I'm looking for solutions. If there are friends who have experienced this situation, their advice is important to me. I think I'll have to take an SSRI Antidepressant for treatment and I'm not sure if I can smoke marijuana while taking this drug. I need your experience and ideas. I wish everyone a pleasant growth.
Thank you.

Absolutely no one here has the credentials to inform you on whether or not you should be doing anything with the medication you are on.

Anyone who is going to advise you here should not be doing so.

Why ? I've heard of a lot of people who have had panic attacks using cannabis, and I can seek advice in this situation. Also, the reason why I opened this topic here is to get ideas from people and I am a cannabis user and to get ideas from people who have the same problems as me.

Taking medical advice from a pot forum probably isn't the best bet. Have an honest conversation with your primary care doctor or mental health specialist and explain your use of cannabis. I tell my doctor about all my cannabis use but they can't give advice because they're Veterans Affairs doctors and the VA doesn't discuss cannabis use as it's Federally illegal. Finding a good therapist can help you figure out the reason behind the panic attacks and hopefully work through it. Best of luck.

Thank you very much for your comment and advice. Cannabis isn't legal in the country I live in, and it doesn't make much sense to tell a doctor about it. I've been smoking cannabis for 6-7 years and I can't enjoy it since I had my first panic attack. Smoking cannabis seems to trigger my attacks. I think I will start medication and get better soon.

It isn't legal here, I'm in the UK. I have recently had a nasty bout of illness. To say it caused me to suffer panic attacks is and understatement. I had cancer. I made sure that I told my doctor and my psychologist exactly about my cannabis use.

It isn't for everyone and that is fine. Personally I never have good experiences with alcohol, so I don't drink.

Do you drink alcohol?

Do you grow your own smoke? Let it ripen longer.

Have to cop it off someone?, use a loop to make sure you have some amber on those buds. That may help.

My Oncologist says "great! whatever makes you feel better".

Only my own experience..cannabis will cause other psychoactive drugs to react. I was on medication for my panic anxiety disorder and smoking caused me to have attacks. I had to choose one or the other because they don't mix for me. Again this is my personal experience. I grow my own and choose mostly indica strains specifically for panic stress and anxiety. I don't like the way the prescription drugs make me feel

I’ve done both separate and at the same time. Nothing wrong with doing them both. I dumped the SSRIs years ago and won’t ever go back. Cannabis helps more without the negative side effects.

.

99 I've been on SSRIs for 12 years, I checked with a cannabis knowledgeable doctor to be sure the cannabis wasn't going to react with any of my meds.

For panic attacks I find something like clonazopam to be more effective that cannabis.

Klonopin kicks ass. A girl I knew had a prescription for a bit. I loved those things. Klonopin, weed, and alcohol. Good times. Add a couple girls to the party and you're golden,

I just called them Happy Pills. :bigjoint:
