Hi people, I've just started my first ever grow, which is currently 1 Week and 1 day into an 18/6 vegative cycle. I've got 28 plants under two 600 watt HPS lights, which are hanging about 18 inches above the plants. My temperature is usually around 80-85, humidity is around 40-50%, oh and its a soil set up. I use Canna Terra Vega to feed them, following the guide lines on the bottle. The last couple of days the leaves on at least 5 of the plants have been curling up at the end and im not sure why..???? So any feedback would be much appreciated.. I've taken some pictures of the problem leaves and of the other plants, because im not sure how they should be looking at this stage, so if you could have a look through the pictures and help me with the problems and just give me any advice/thoughts on the other plants i'd really be gratefull...........

This is a good point. So think the general consensus is heat stress :)
he said temps are 80-85F...so thats probably taken from the wall mounted thermometer...not at canopy level...so its probably closer to 90 at the plants :)

Thanks for the replies people... The temperature I gave of 80-85 is taken from directly under the light at canopy level. Does that sound ok..????
I still need to get some little fans to blow on the tops of the plants so would they stop the heat stress...????

Your plants look great. If that's the only problem consider yourself lucky. You're way ahead of the newbie learning curve.

Wait you dont have an oscillating fan in there already? Get a couple STAT! They love air movement! :D

They look great dude, just get a fan on them soon... Having a breeze blowing on them will also strengthen the stems up to support the HUGE budz ur gonna have

when i put my plants under hps for the first time i start at 1 metre and lower a few inches each day, to stop heat stress, are you using canna terra professional plus soil too? if not, replant them in to that, it is sterile has a neutral ph and it has nutrients to last 1 week and it is easy to control the amount of feed you give your plants.
you will see your plants go grow mental, with veg nutes, then bloom and boost.

someone mentioned stretching, the plants night time temps must be at least 10c below daytime temps to stop this.

if it dont get any higher then 85 , they do not have heat stress.
do you have any circulation with them at all ?

the soil looks a tiny bit hot , which they will grow into very fast. dont feed them any extra food for a week or so (give or take) an they will stop showing you "heat stress".

people use those stupid deficiency pics too much , you cannot tell what one mans plant is doing just cause it reminds you of a pic you seen.

you have a lot of reading to do , but its no big deal , just stay away from those stupid charts. read about nutrition , that is the most important thing to worry bout for the future of your gardens.
