Ever/often only read the original post and then reply, without reading any other replies already there?

I seem to see what appears to be that rather frequently... even in one page threads. People repeating what others have said, or saying things that ignore what other have said (that is relevant to that point).

I usually read the OP, first and last pages... and back track or hop around if it's big. If it's really huge I make it clear I am diving in blind.

Just curious.

Most ppl aren't gonna play catch up with a thread they haven't been following. Say it goes 10 pgs, of course they're only going to read the last page and the first entry. I don't think anyone cares either way. You usually know who has been active in a thread and how much relevance to apply to their statement.

Don't be so lazy, op. It's not like you have something better to do. Drop your fiber and water intake, and you'll have enough time in the bathroom to catch up on what's happening in each and every thread. Except the flat earth thread, don't go in there. Even in the shitter...

Kinda all depends what the thread is about to .....there's some where there's no need to start at the beginning and others that are three responses of great information and then 49 more of people disagreeing with eachother .....

You'll get more accustomed to skimming past entries that are redundant or not well thought out. Just filter it out best you can.

Which brings up another questions... do you take something like that as joke, or a challenge?

btw I took it as a joke...

Some people just have an odd sense of humour... maybe slightly abusive... but all in good fun.

Some are assholes.

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially online where tone and other cues are missing.

i personally feel that if someone liked your post before quoting it and throwing in a funny retort, that someone is not being malicious.

Yup, pretty good sign...

But, idk... I wouldn't necessarily call them all humourless altogether... for some people humor just doesn't involve insults... or profanity... I mean I myself am sarcastic and a little bit insulting (sometimes) but usually not overly so, or profane... is just how I am... sometimes I get my hackles up with abusive type humor, because I'm used to insults being insults... and when I look in the mirror "I see pride! I see power! I see a bad-ass mother who don't take no crap off of nobody!"
