I've been avoiding bottles and the grow store since switching to organic and haven't really thought much about adding enzymes but I got some free samples while refilling my Co2 tank today. Yay or nay to them?

What's SST?
Seed Sprout Tea=SST It is a process in which you germinate seeds then once they have a root about 1/4-1/2 in. long you ground them up in a blender with some water. Dilute that solution and water your plants with pure organic enzymes. I use 6 row barley. I get them from a place that sells equipment for making beer. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Nice! I've heard of what you're talking about I'll have to give it a go! There's a beer brewer supply just down the road.

They will have the 6 row barley you are looking for and it is cheap. I paid $2.50 for a pound. You only need about 50-60 grams of seed for a quality SST. I soak mine in a mason jar for 24 hours and then place them on a paper plate with a wet paper towel on top and bottom. Within 48 hours they should be sprouting. Look for the little tails coming out of the seed shell. Once they have sprouted blend them with enough water to make it easy to pour into your watering can, mix with water and you are good. My batch is mixed with 2.5 gallons of water. And if you use tap water with chlorine or chloramine you should let it sit out in an open container for 24 hours to let the chemicals evaporate from your water. I like to use this tea once a month in veg and once after the flip. It really makes your plants grow strong and healthy. You should look into AACT too. it is a major player in organic gardening and really the main way I feed my plants. Organics seems overwhelming at first but once you get the hang of it you can produce amazing dank for way less than using bottled nutes and the taste is like nothing else.IMG_20160226_182017842 (1).jpg

For sure! I'm already doing Aact right now I'll have to start throwing the SST into the regimen!

Those look like some happy girls! Do you use guanos or meals for your macronutrients?
Seabird guano for N and P, kelp meal for K alot of worm castings, some peat moss and coco, gonna try to simplify even more next time with a better innoculation of microbes. Learning more about biodynamics and why alot of the ingredients many are using can be overkill. Less is more imo.

Horse tails for silica when i can, aloe is my wetting agent when needed it grows in my veg room along side my ladies.

Nice! We're going for a similar approach. I had my most recent round loaded up with a little bit of everything but I'm backing off with my next mix. Same as you, guanos, kelp, and castings. I've got alfalfa meal as well. And my medium is compost, peat moss, and perlite.

I'd be really interested to know what tour yield per light is! We're both using seven gallon pots and tomato cages. How many weeks did you veg for? Are you using smart pots? This is my first time using them and things seem to be going well.

You can topdress malted seeds instead of making an sst. Coots recently confirmed it works just as well. You only need to do it 1 or 2 times per grow.
Im using ground malted 6 row, not making sst i agree it works just as well, i too dress it a week or two before flip and once after stretch.

When I have some more money later this month. I plan on grabbing a quality dehydrator to malt my own seeds. I can get corn seed real cheap locally. Then I found a feed store an hour away that has tons of barley seed.
Feed store and brewers supply both have been successes for me as far as a cheap supply goes and i live pretty much on the fringe of modern civilization lmao
