The NRA is a lobby for the gun industry. The gun / ammo manufacturers are the objective ($$); citizens are only what they parade in front of the cameras. The NRA ensures sales and profits of the gun industry. They want your money and they fan the flames of fear so people stockpile guns and ammo. Pretty freakin simple. And freakin simple folk buy it hook, line and sinker.

Remember Y2K panic? "They's comin' for ya guns." Total and complete bullshit. Another BS story that allowed the gun & ammo companies to fleece US citizens who should be spending their cash paying down debt or buying better quality food. These crazy-ass doomsday preppers are in the same boat. A little international news and it's Armageddon. Spend all the cash you don't have on freeze-dried food you can store in a hole.
Why are people that are prepared crazy?

Your own government says a 3 day stash of food and water is good. Store a couple years worth of goods and you are crazy?

Only someone that refuses to learn from history is ignorant or crazy. Our own country has been on the brink a few times. The 30's was not the only depression.

Every great nation in history has failed. We will be doomed to repeat that. Who knows if that will be my lifetime or not.

Once people are set in their ways, it usually takes something life changing to sway them. The idiom beating a dead horse comes to mind when debating online.

That's what I like about the military, it strips people down to the core and hits the brain housing group reset button. Well at least that's what Parris Island does.

I have had a few life changing events. I got hit hard in 08. We sold everything off for pay off and didn't ruin our credit but I had to walk to work for six months before I could pay cash for one.

Screw that. Cash only for me now. Save everything. Few people know what it is to be hungry. I mean the real hungry where you start thinking about stealing something so you can eat.

I was in a similar situation during the real estate bubble poppage. We did a deed in lieu of foreclosure on our home, fancy word for peaceful foreclosure. My wife and I both fucked our credit up. I had to liquidate everything I owned.

Now we're back to mid 700's credit wise and own another home with some equity on it! Fortunately no starving in the process; I had enough of that when I was young. We got back on our feet without any help. Not gonna lie, I'm a little bitter towards some family but it was better off. I'm too proud to accept outside help anyways. I was blue collar and my wife was white collar health field...still is.

just to underscore how much of a stupid fucking idiot @ThaiBaby1 truly is, consider the facts.

sweden's rate of sexual assault is 63.5 per 100,000 citizens. about 6.5% of the population is armed.

alaska's rate of sexual assault is 79.7 per 100,000 citizens. about 60.6% of the population is armed.

@ThaiBaby1 is a real stupid fucking idiot. one of those dumb, stupid, idiot types. tiny penis as well.
