do you trim flowering plants to allow more light for better buds?

I am currently flowering and my buds are starting to gather mass i was wondering if i should trim away some fan leaves or any leaves in genral to let the buds better develop on the bottom? Or should i just let the buds on top finish cut them off and let the ones underneath continue to grow? any ideas would be great

every day take 1- 2 massive leaves , or leaves putting alot of shade on ur nuggies and rip em out. lol never half harvest... get that out of ur head and by mid flower to near the end , alot of fan leaves will fall off but yeah just a few every day , maybe dont do it a day or 2 here and there u know.. it dont hurt , there very resilliant .. think it takes 50 percent of its ceg to be cut off for it todie.... 1 or 2 leaves out of 100-200 wont even effectit. try new things man find out what works for you and your setup dont take anyones advice, make your own .. trial and error, best of luck dude!!

haha ya ive been trimming it here and there now thanks alot. do you save male clippings as well for hash? how soon should i start trimming away leaves? i have several other plants that are just starting to show tiny white hairs should i trim away leaves to possibly speed up the process? its crazy how resilient bud is when you trim it and super crop it and all that my buddies plants in our garden look like perfectly manicured prize winning plants lol. i love growing its so relaxing. oh btw im growing train wreck, power skunk, mazar, mazar kush, and jack herer

Wow, the perpetuation of misinformation never ceases to amaze me. You do know that leaves are used for photosynthesis, and that photosynthesis is responsible for producing the energy your plant needs to bud, right? Think of them as solar cells. If you keep removing cells, the amount of energy produced will soon be less than the amount of energy demand which will actually hurt your bud production.

If you feel that some fan leaves are shading buds, then move those leaves out of the way. You should never remove a healthy fan leaf. You are reducing the efficiency of your plant and ultimately affecting your yield in a negative way. :wall:

man thats just one guys answer , like i say man take everyones info with a grain of salt and do what works for u , i find this method helps alot.. everytime u ripoff a fanleaf another is put into the making , leaves replace it and they get the energy one way or another ....u cant tell me if i ripoff a fanleave , the bud above the stem of this sed fan leaf will wither or be any less potant than any other plant , cuz ur full of shit been there tried it , it doesnt effect it , on this small of a scale so dont go by he said she said , try it on one plant see if ur big girl minds it .... my indica gets so bushy i have to ,,,, its 3.5 wide and 30 inches tall..... cant even see past the first few inches. ur babys not hurt man keep up the good work , looking forward to seeign the progress,, dont be a sheep , findout whats good for you

ok so why are you ripping off healthy leaves?! they're blocking light, right so why not bend the fan leaves so the bud its shading is between the blades of the leaf that way your getting max photosynthesis and max light, if the bud underneath wont reach the fan leaf then lst it with a piece of wire in a coil a paperclip will do. pulling off leaves every other day isnt the way to go here guys
