the first week i switched to 12/12 i didnt set the timer right, it was on for 12, off for 4, on for 4, then off for 4.

Its now week 14 of budding and its been taking so slow for the white hairs to turn red, all trichomes are still white. It seems like such little progress has been made the last two weeks, are they never going to be as good as they could because of how i messed up?

I feel you got 2 options here, continue with the 12/12 and see how it goes, or pull back to veg cycle and try again. I cant say if either will work, cuz I never had that problem.

as soon as i realized the mistake i put it at 12/12 and things have been going pretty well in general i would say, it just seems like this last step is taking forever

or would what be the repercussions of this happening?
You could hermie your plant, it could have 2 sexes. Plants hermie when you stress them or do weird things to them. I'd just watch for those balls sacks, if you find them, you could risk it and cut them off, or throw the plants away. Some people take the risk and cut them off hoping that they dont release pollen to the flowers, BUT if you do seed your plants its not the end of the world.

Hermie plants that pollinate themselves create seeds that are all feminized. Therefor all your seeds would be girls unless you stress them out again. 10 seeds go for about $100 depending on strain. Thats fat loot!

they are definitly looking good and no hermis, im basically asking if by doing this they wont fully develop and thats why its taking so long for the hairs to turn red or the thrichomes

They will eventually turn red I believe, you gotta give it more time. How long did you say you were into flowering?
