Do you think I am ready to flower?

I am growing 3 plants. One bushy feminized Northern lights is 5.5 inches tall, and I also have a Blue widow and a plant from a mystery seed, both plants measure about 8.5 inches. They are topped. They have been veging 6 weeks now and after noticing some nute deficiencies over the last few weeks I finally added some miracle gro tomato ferts yesterday to help boost there growth which has been stagnant over the last 10 days. When would you suggest I think about going 12/12 with 2700K cfls to induce flowering and get the max yield?

Do they have preflowers yet? At around the 4th to 6th internode there should be pistils growing. 2 white hairs making a V shape connected at the base. When you see those she's sexually mature and ready to flower.

If they haven't showed by 8 weeks you can start then, since ur using cfl's smaller is better, unless yoiu get some better lights which I highly highly suggest.

If there clones (which u said there not) then they are the same age as the mother so can flower any time

They look very Limey. Make sure the pH isn't too acidic if you haven't yet. They also look a little Phosphorus deficient. We'd check the soil pH and feed them a strong, full NPK fertilization shortly before flowering. Their size, however, is more than enough to flower.

What do you think? Female?

My pH was ~7. Should I get them good and strong using ferts for a week or two before flowering?

I would start 12/12 now if I was you. Unless you are going to add an HPS for flowering.

btw- gotta love the emergency mylar blanket!

How did you test the pH? When a pH meter reads 7 at rest and then also reads 7 when testing, it's frequently not working.

We always give the plants a good dose of Potassium when they go into flowering because enough K can cause preflowers very quickly, even in veg. So, the extra K helps them start flowering faster. Since they appear to need other nutrients, those should be added with the Potassium. The plants start growing faster when put into flowering. Some even shoot up like a rocket as soon as they get 12hrs of darkness. If they are deficient in something when flowering starts, the increase in growth will make it worse real quick. They don't need to be completely nursed back to perfect health. Just holding off flowering for a day or two after feeding them what they're missing should cause the new flowering growth to be lush and green.

Yeah there not showing pre flowers yet but you will be fine to start flowering. If you get a hps light you could veg longer but with cfl's if your plants too big you will get little fluffy popcorn buds. Unless you really use a shitload of cfl all around it, like 250+ watts.

I took the pH again, it is at 6.5. The soluble ferts I am using is rated at 18-18-21. Do you suggest I mix in the fertilizer for every watering and will that work for the flowering stage too? How many times do you think I need to treat with ferts until I make up for the deficiencies?

How many 23 watt cfls do you suggest I have on each plant during flowering to get the max yield? I am definitely on a budget so a hps is out of the question.

Thanks for all the input.
