Do you leave the humidity top on to sprout seeds?

you can but if the plant is sensitive to humidity change it could kill the little guy once you moved it to a lesser humidity. I like to start them in high humidity before their "true" leaves set in and the starter leaves open up fully seeking sunlight. I only do this because my clone box is warm and seedlings grow faster in a warm humid environment, so my seedlings break soil in a day and open their starter leaves in 2 days. At this point they are in solo cups and i move them under a 4' 2 bulb T8 floro until they are about 6"
My whole germination cycle from day one of germ is about 2-4 days, 2 days to break shell & 2 days to break soil so i'm pretty happy with it

yah clones are different as they now have no root system, yet lots of vegetation to still take care of, and seeds have a stored energy in the that gets the going, no need for added humidity ime..
w/e your medium is, just make sure to keep it moist at all times and it should do fine.. i also like low light like cfls or t5s for a week or two as well..
