Listen, if you want good vigorius clones you need a HEALTHY mother. Yes feed it and treat it well or your clones will suffer.

keep the moms on the veg nitrogen levels. lights on a 18/6 cycle is fine. 5 gallon or bigger pots and keep a fan blowing on the moms to keep the air moving and the plant healthy

I just read a guide that completely contradicts what i'd read elsewhere and i see you're right. It recommends an N rich diet a week prior to taking clones. so I'll be doing that from now on and throwing that book away
