I'd rather run regs but after vegging for a month and pulling 8 males out of 12, it was fems after that. I dont mess with pollen ( at least not intentionally !)

Shew.. That isnt a good ratio at all sorry to say. ;( I dont blame you on that 1 bit. However, I would look into a strain that has those "higher fem rates'. Its great pheno hunting IMO.. ;) 5436.gif

^ I wish I had space/money to get a proper setup going and attempt some breeding.. Hunting for the perfect phenos to make a plant suited to my needs/tastes would be glorious.. One day.

Cobnobuler did you save a bit of pollen from all those males? At least you could clone the females to up the ratio haha, thats harsh luck though

Dankster... omg mate that looks yummy. My friends always ask why I never submit my breeds... I'm working on an F2 right now called Bioshock. (Lowryder#2 X mango) X (sweetooth X blueberry auto)

Those are current genetic back trained one generation. I plan on Crossing a 60 day lemon with auto blueberry and my it up a bit more but that will be Bioshock infinite (the plan is to take the F2 cross and selectively breed it for flavor for a new F1). I am selectively breeding no pics at but damn yours is nice and I can't even like button it.

Regs cuz buying 4 seeds if you manage to get one successful male and female out of the four you have a potential for hundreds of seeds of that strain and if you want female stability you find a vigorous female out of those hundreds of seeds and mother it.

If it was the other way around, you would be a regular fan.
Roll the dice, can't win them all.
Well, thing is, I only have so much space to work with, and I tend to veg for longer periods of time. I've raised some mighty fine looking males :). I just figure I cant afford to put all that attention ( and electricity) into plants that I'm liable to end up tearing limb from limb. I dont let 'em stick around long enough to get pollen. As soon as I seem them nuts they're gone.
So, now I stick with fem seeds although I must add that in my own experience, I HAVE had a rise in phenos that turn hermie on me now and then. Some are of the opinion that fem seeds do have a higher likelihood to do that. There are other factors involved but I tend to believe that to be true in my own experience. I do think the regs tend to be more stable. I think when a reg turns female, it has a higher likelihood of staying true throughout.

Started with bad seed to learn. Moved up to feminized to save space and now I strictly run regs because I have more space and more resources to breed my own seeds. Every grow I clone my best female veg her for 2 months to add girth and then breed her so I never have to buy seeds from that strain again. Also I keep a library of my seeds with the date they were harvested so I know how fresh they are unlike when I get them from a seedbank.

Been growing in my closet for 7 years now. Don't even know if there were femmed seeds back then but grew reg's for about 5 years......HATED throwing out healthy boys, not into pollen chucking, just growing smoke...went to femmed a couple years ago just out of laziness, never had any herms or problems......I clone my favorite smoke now....that is all.

I have only bought seeds once and they were feminized; I did not want to deal with males mucking up my grow. I have not tried an auto stain and do not really plan on it. I want to control mother nature and not let her dictate to me when it is time, and from what I read it did not really sound like auto's were good for cloning as mother would be in flower by the time she would normally give off cuttings.

I do both reg and fems too one thing I have noticed Thomas with the regs the final product seems to be that bit better? The last run I did were fem all Humboldt seeds and they were good...at the mo I have a few clones and some reg billberrys and its looking like their lady's too :) happy days

I'm on my first grow and I'm using regular seeds. Just mothering two, (purple urkle X ak-47) and (alienOG X Maui) the seeds i got year before last while helping my brother do all his outdoor crop, showed me how to pollinate and breed... hoping the urkle-ak cross blends to give me the urkle quality and ak yield
