One of my bud from my curing jar got infested by mold this morning, the good thing is saw it right away then removed the infested bud... iam just curious does cold temperatures can cause this? even your curing jar is air tight?

It grows better in humid environments (hot) but it'll still grow in a cold environment. It' can go mouldy in a curing jar if it was not dry enough and/or was kept airtight for too long.

I'm not terribly clued in on all the physics and such at work i must admit, but i guess if the air in the jar is humid, and then chilled, it's going to dampen the bud. Just pondering here though.

Either way, from what i've read, the mould would be caused from excessive moisture levels in the buds or air. How dry are they, if you bend the stalks, what response do you get, is it bendy or stiff or does it snap?

stiff.. but the bud itself feels dry, maybe i could put some moisture gel in my jar.. what you think?

Pick out what you see and let it set out of the jar for hour or two. Wash you jars and lids in bleach water and dry well. Then go at it again keeping an eye on them and give the sniff test. Molding bud will smell "off".
