Do submersible pumps leech iron,magnese

Talking to the guy at the hydro shop and he said i shouldnt run my submersible pump all the time but on timer instead. He said that the magnetic motor is basicly a electro-magnet and it attracts and sucks iron and magnese out of the water and plants. But a lot of DWC growers run their pumps all the time. I guess their nutes are loaded with enough iron and magneses to compensate. Whatcha think.
Any bubbleheads out there could you give me the scoop on this is the guy at the hydro shop right or is he just trying to sell me a timer.

I guess that sounds like it makes sense maybe, if you think about. but I think that there are enough people that dont use a timer and it seems to work just fine. Im in the end of my first grow right now and I run my pump 24/0 for the first 5weeks. then when I removed the males I took out the pump and irrigation lines. once I did this I did notice that my res temps dropped about 4-5 degrees.

Iron maybe, theoretically that is but never heard of that ever brought up before.

But magnesium doesn't respond to magnetism just like aluminum doesn't.

Maybe the names magnesium and magnet being close threw him off and if that's the case and since he didn't know magnesium doesn't respond even in solid form...
I'd find new hydro guy to get my advice from.

Ok so 4-5 degrees is what it is I wanted to know. I am using a 800 gph submersible pump in my 45 gal reservoir....and was wondering how much temperature decrease should I expect it to go down to if I take it out?....

If you are doing DWC / Bubbleponics kill your drip when you see roots hit the water. There is no purpose for the pump and drip after that. They only include that to help get roots to the water. All it will do later is add heat to your res and over water your plants.

Hydro guys and head shop owners dont know much, they know a little but they are there to get your money.
