Do I really need all these ferts?

I was checking about fertilizing. Many brands, quite expensive, each one promises better results etc..

The question is, do we really need them?

I mean if you buy a decent soil, have some classic guano, an organic root booster, some good quality Fe (all of them cheap and available) do you really need these 100$ "famous" ferts? Will they indeed make a better yield?

Some have great results with the 100 dollar stuff. But, for me don't really needed it.
There are other good nutes out there for way cheaper. I'm testing out this 8 dollar a Qt. Growers Secret 521. So far i like what I'm seeing.

It is fine to do without the nutrient lines, but you will need to supplement in other nutrients that contain the micro and macro nutes that your plants need. It is easy to get a "one-part" nutrient that contains a lot of everything that you need to grow successfully.

If you get a soil blend that has a lot of food in it, then you will need to supplement when in flower because you will have depleted the amount of food in the soil over the course of the grow cycle. If the soil blend has enough food in it t get you through the whole cycle, there is a chance that you can potentially burn your plants when you initially transplant your babies.

Check out the floranova or the pur blend pro bloom. You figure you have enough nutrients in your soil to get you thru veg, now all you need is a minimum of one bottle for bloom. Not necessary, but it will help keep your plants from becoming deficient and keep the blooms bloomin. Hope this helps!

The trick is having the right proportions of nutrients in the soil. Bottled nutes makes it easy. You can mix your own soils (see Organics Section) or buy bagged amended soils ready to go. It pretty much your decision and believe me, folks on RIU are very passionate about what they use.

Personally, I use bagged organic potting soil that is amended with the following ingredients right in the bag...bat guano, earth worm castings, fish bone meal, feather meal, green sand, mycorrihzae, glacial rock dust, soybean meal, humic acid.
