Do I really need additives?

I'm going for yield and I'm wondering, and I'm a bit confused, do I really need more than my gh 3 part and cal mag?

I'm confused by silica and Kool bloom and all that shit. Is there anything that's really going to increase the yield that the gh 3 part isn't already supplying? ?

You don't even need the calmag+. GH 3 part has everything you need.

I'm also using hydro guard because my aero res isn't chilled. Do you think that is good idea?

Have you ever heard of silica additives giving the plant a waxy exterior and discouraging insects?

Most all that crap with a high price tag for extra bloom power is just sugar in a bottle. I have run sugardaddy, g.o. bloom enhance crap, vitamins, some two or three labeled as terpenator or some such. against reg nutes and molasses they all look the same.

I gave away samples from stuff I used different 'additives' on and nobody can tell any difference. I didn't get to scientific but did test several against plants using exact same mutes without additive.

I can never find a difference with any of it. There are plenty of two part formulas that work good. Or mixing your own soil can be rewarding. After the first couple fuck ups you'll know what works and doesn't just by reading plants you grow often. If your throwing new nutes with new plants you never really know if its the supplements.

I judged the ones I used with clones of the same Mom in the same room. I like to bust the guy at the hydro stores balls about all the garbage he sells. He knows it too but there is money in it.

Mike- silica I have heard does help with resistance to insects. I have thought spraying it would be less beneficial than more as it looks like crystals when dry and I would think it could effect the leaves from breathing? I've used dyna-gro 0-0-3 silica outdoors holding it would add disease and mold resistance. I never seen any difference. Indoors as well. If your plants are healthy they should shine and be resistant. Indoors if your having bug issues its laziness. Daily maintenance and close watch and cleanliness is better than anything you can buy.

Forgive any grammar errors. My computer likes to put in words of its own as if it understands what I want to say better than i? Maybe I'm getting old.

Kool bloom. I just reread your first post, I apologize to post three in a row but yea tried that too. Hydro pusher says awesome stuff. Your f'n plants will explode! Same thing these guys always say. Anyhow used it and can not even tell you what a waste of money.

I know guys who use stuff like this and swear by it. Absolutly think plants won't perform without it. Some of us run the same cuts and I perform as well or better 99% of the time.

I have used the go and like it well am using mostly my own soil mix with vermifire (spl?) just before bloom. Two part canna nutes organic and pure blend pro are good ones as well. Relyable.

koolbloom and additives like it have their place, but not on a constant basis and only in moderation imo. Used at select times in the growth cycle they have their uses, but they sure arent required to grow healthy bountiful plants. I like to supplement a pure potassium sulfate for the last 2 weeks while im tapering down my base nutrients, for example.

Get a bottle of molasses. 6-8 bucks a gallon at a feed store. Makes about 100 quarts of the $40 quart sugars out there. Enjoy.
A pound of pure potassium sulfate costs ~ $3, used at a half to 1 gram per gallon lasts a while :)...sugars are really overrated and dont really have a use outside of a full organic grow. molasses is basically supplementing potassium sulfate... why not just add the active ingredient?

thats about 3 bucks for 500gallons of high quality booster :)

If you have soft water or use LED then you will use calmag and also silica is very beneficial for a more strong and robust plant, try to use the bio silica as it pH neutral.

Silica 'may' increase yield due to stronger plants.
Silica strengthens the plants cell walls, it makes stems sturdier, it helps with the plants immune system,,,,, yes ,,,,,,,,,, but is not needed

Is it a good idea ,,,, sure
