If using FFOF ( ocean forest soil ) , it's one of the most complete premixes out there. PROMIX ,Sunshine #4 , Roots organic are also excellent choices. But using their feed schedule as a " Guide " you can start the regiment with 1/4 or 1/2 strength to see how well the plants respond and raise or lower strength. If you see
MINOR TIPBURN , that actually is a " good " sign because it shows you are at the threshold of Overfeeding and damn near on target.
You can flush with regular water or something like Florakleen , to dissolve salt buildup.
I don't need " bloom boosters " or " Bud Builders " , it would cause me new problems because of over nutes. ( even their Open Sesame , Beastie Bloom and Cha Ching are extremely HOT with the regular nutes ) . Beastie Bloom alone is ( 0-50-30 ) NPK.
That is way too hot for my girls so I only use maybe an 1/8 tsp.
If using soil nutes alone , you can begin feed around week 4/5 without issue , but stick with guide and start light.
Week 5 I introduce their FIRST feed because by that time the soil is becoming exhausted of its host nutes within. Sometimes the soil's PH goes south too , and may have to add lime to keep PH acceptable. FFOF is already PH buffered but it will drop off over time.
-- These were on a " water only " ( PH 6.6 ) for up to week 5 before even feeding. ---
Starting from seedling : You CAN begin feed as chart shows from seedling at 1/4 strength of listed ( teaspoon ) per gallon and as plant grows , start to increase to 1/2 strength as weeks go on. ( I find the soil only method without adding nutes is less stressful on them because you will see how nice the grow WITHOUT anything else added. )
You must FLUSH this line of nutrients - they salt up fast and will lock out.
If you are interested in an AUTOFLOWER feed schedule for FOX FARMS I will post it.
