Use a 10x or better loupe to look for them
on the bottom of the leaves. A magnifying
glass would work or excellent eye sight.
If you have them you could pick them off
with tweezers or smear them on the leaves
with your fingers to kill them. Be gentle to
the leaves though.

Naw you do not have mites. What u have is some nute burn and it looks like some burn on your bottom leaves from water splashing them. Next water skip the nutes

Cheers prof but why do the leaves look like they have been eaten? I only watered with normal water but the soil does contain nutes it's house and garden bat mix

Cheers ppl I have found the problem and guess what the problem was? me, feel like a right idiot the few plants that looked like they had been eaten; it was the new growth I had snipped by accident during topping as I am a topping first timer just a bit of nute burn I think and a little shock from the transplant in to bigger pots but thanks again for all your help peace

Good news. Spider mites don't really eat the leaves. They would turn ur leaves yellow and leave webs at the base of fan leaves. Thousands of tiny yellow dots on fan leaves are usually a dead give away for mites. I would say no nutes until the root base is more stable and the plant is mature. With a seedling its better to under nute than over nute
