So I have 16 132qbs divided between 2 fixtures with 8 qbs each. Now that I’m expanding and will have another mother room, I’m not quite sure if I should break down these fixtures and separate them out for wider coverage. They are currently in a 3x3 frame. I’m not vegging the clones so they are going straight from cloner into flower. That may change but for now that’s the plan. Sadly I’m missing key information that could help but I’m ordering lights soon before I’ll know for sure. Essentially I could order extra lights but this trimmer is cutting into my budget. Each mother/cloner area is going to supply 7 flood and drain sogs perpetually. Also what do y’all think of supplementing the lights with some red strips for some stretch?

If you wanna play with stretch in vegg: the blux vesta strips are cheap and have 2 channels: 5000k and 2700k both in 90 cri. I made a loght for a buddy and he loves it, 5000k to start first few weeks and then both channels on equal for a 3700ish K spectrum. If you wanted more stretch just throw in some more warm white. If you wanted to just add some red strip you should be looking at far reds, not photo reds.
I’m a strip newbie where can I get them from...since I’m switching my strips for my flowering plants, some of my red strips I have now I could use...couldn’t I just use 3500k qb boards?

12-15w per square foot of LED should be plenty for cloning/veg. number of boards or strips is up to you but you'll at least need that much power.

For clones id go for strips, more even light. Havent tried 3500k for clones dont know. The higher cct (5000k etc) the easier it is to get the plant to transpire.
Damn I wish I started with strips, I’m going to take time to learn more in-depth about them. That 2 channel ability is cool. I was planning on doing from cloner straight to flower with no veg time. Though eventually I think I may end up giving them a week or so.
