when you start to see hairs other than pre-flowers :)
also i would check trichomes just to be sure instead of doing a day count :)

If your going to Blast off start counting, but as far as your plants being ripe there is only one way to tell and that is with a 30x microscope (Radio Shack or Hydro Shop13$) your need to look at the tri-chromes and they should be cloudy with 25% dark brown.

I count as soon as I flip to 12/12, BUT, I think you'll find that the estimated times are rarely accurate, you can almost always add a week or two. The estimates given, are for people running fine-tuned setups, with zero problems, running high-powered lighting, etc...for the fastest flowering times. Every deviance from the ideal, will add to your flowering time.

Like others said learn to check the trichs. One of the biggest mistakes I made when I started was thinking I could count the days by what a seedbank said. Remember they make that statement based on ideal conditions, which most people don't have especially when they start out.:eyesmoke:

i ran PE last run, g13 claim 55 - 60 days on flower. but mine where more to the 60 day mark, actually 62 days to 30 - 40% amber under a 600hps. do like they say and get your self a 30x loop or mini microscope from radio shack so ya can make sure they are ready.

this is actually because it takes several days up to 2-3 weeks for certain strains to build up the levels of hormones that actually begin flowering, which is when the count begins :) now personally i always check the trichomes but if its not supposed to be rip until 49-59 days or something, i wont start checking until day 48-49 :)
