Do hermit balls grow brown hairs?

Hi,

Recently had an epic fail and a carbon filter landed on one of my plants as a result I have been inspecting it closely and can see what look suspiciously like balls. They are autos and I do have cola forming and various bud sites. I notice that one of the things I would call a ball has brown hairs coming from it so unsure if this a calyx or a sack. Would a male nut sack show these hairs?

Thanks for the title correction. Posting whilst high, schoolboy error.

Actually, they don't.

Balls are just balls. That's it. They open up to release pollen. I don't think it would be possible to have a calyx and ball all in one.

Think about it, have you ever seen a girl with a penis instead of a clitoris? That's essentially the same thing. And I'm talking naturally here, lol

So you're safe if there's hairs coming out of the ball you see. That's the stigma, which is what would catch pollen

this is incorrect. i have personally seen hermaphrodite plants that had pistils growing out of pollen sacks.

pics would definatly help.

I think what your seeing is just a calyx. It is a preflower that usually swells a little bit earlier than the rest of the flowers. They form right on the main stems. The two hairs are pistils that mean it's female. The balls are different looking, they are more of an oval shaped pod that grows on a little stem.
