And how do you find one?
My wife is from Orange County and I asked her.
Must be a new thing as we have been gone from there for a long time.
I'll Google them and see what I find.

Uhh the law passed in '96
I was in the Army in Korea in 1977, not to tell my age but 1996 was like yesterday for me and the wife. In the 80's southern Caly was a great place to live, love, surf & smoke the weed!

Today it's not so friendly, however having a wife that speaks Spanish is a major plus!

OK, so inlight'in me... What is this law and how does it work?

Peace

Compassionate Use Act of 1996 (11362.5 H&S)
(a) This section shall be known and may be cited as the Compassionate Use Act of 1996.
(b) (1) The people of the State of California hereby find and declare that the purposes of the Compassionate Use Act of 1996 are as follows:

(A) To ensure that seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where that medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person's health would benefit from the use of marijuana in the treatment of cancer, anorexia, AIDS, chronic pain, spasticity, glaucoma, arthritis, migraine, or any other illness for which marijuana provides relief.

(B) To ensure that patients and their primary caregivers who obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes upon the recommendation of a physician are not subject to criminal prosecution or sanction.

(C) To encourage the federal and state governments to implement a plan to provide for the safe and affordable distribution of marijuana to all patients in medical need of marijuana.

(2) Nothing in this section shall be construed to supersede legislation prohibiting persons from engaging in conduct that endangers others, nor to condone the diversion of marijuana for nonmedical purposes.

(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no physician in this state shall be punished, or denied any right or privilege, for having recommended marijuana to a patient for medical purposes.

(d) Section 11357, relating to the possession of marijuana, and Section 11358, relating to the cultivation of marijuana, shall not apply to a patient, or to a patient's primary caregiver, who possesses or cultivates marijuana for the personal medical purposes of the patient upon the written or oral recommendation or approval of a physician.

(e) For the purposes of this section, ''primary caregiver" means the individual designated by the person exempted under this section who has consistently assumed responsibility for the housing, health, or safety of that person.

SEC. 2. If any provision of this measure or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, that invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the measure that can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this measure are severable.

Sec. 11018. Marijuana

"Marijuana" means all parts of the plant Cannabis sativa L., whether growing or not; the seeds thereof; the resin extracted from any part of the plant; and every compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of the plant, its seeds or resin. It does not include the mature stalks of the plant, fiber produced from the stalks, oil or cake made from the seeds of the plant, any other compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of the mature stalks (except the resin extracted therefrom), fiber, oil, or cake, or the sterilized seed of the plant which is incapable of germination.

I believe the clubs/cafes have contracts with specific medical growers. They would not buy from someone in high school or college.

And from this law is when they established cannabis clubs

which basically is a weed pharmact with usually the downstairs being a public coffee shop and a door where people line up to go to "the room" which has all there medical marijuana needs

i know here in Colorado I think they can buy your extra weight from what you are able to legally grow if you have your MM Card. If nothing else, I'm sure they'll trade. Who doesn't like variety??

Quality meds are bought by Medical Clubs providing it is certified organic, tests free of mold, contaminants, moisture, etc.

If a LEO sees you sell to a patient, and you dont have a license, then yes, you will get busted and the patient will not.

Certified Organic? Are there actually organizations that will certify your crop organic? That'd be sweet, but I've not heard of any that would.
