DJ I just read your whole thread and I know all too well how it feels to be broke and out of weed.... My first harvest just ran out two days ago. Keep up the good work bro.
thanks bro...but im all set on weed now..just give a few small snips to my big plant..quick dry..and im good...i only need it before i eat and before i sleep...the rest of the time its just overkill to smoke

+rep for getting girlfriend interested.
I can't tell you how many times growing has gotten me in trouble with the lady. I like the mini DWC. No, I love it. It's perfect for propagation. And as said before, It's perfect for 12/12 from seed or low veg plants. Just have to keep the water filled daily and might have to take a pair of scissors to the roots to do a bit of pruning, but there are all kinds of things to come up with.

I prefer to have each plant in its own container. Something I just don't like about totes. I feel like each plant should be treated like the individual it is. Even clones. Individual containers for their individual needs, nutrient wise.
can you cut your roots if they're getting too long????

yeah you can...ive been doing some research about root pruning...but outside of the MJ forums...was looking at garden post of various flowers and veggies....im doing a new method i was turned on to...i have a seed started in a party cup...ive got holes all around the cup top to bottom...not too big as to where soil falls through..just big enough for roots to pop out of...when the roots start popping out...ill prune what comes out...that pretty much stops the root from just growing down...and it puts more energy into growing the spider web type roots and it spreads the roots out better when you transplant...they explode with new side roots in new soil instead of just growing strait down...heres how i did the cup...soon as i get about 1/2" of roots popping out the holes.....i trim it flush to the cup..but not that far along yet...the haze is only 6 days old

and the same goes for dwc plants...i trim about 3 inches a week off the roots of my biggest plant

the 2 new party cups...still growing great...will do some more training on both probably tomorrow

100_9739.jpg

and the haze is finally taking off....in about another 2-3 weeks she will be transplanted into a one gallon container to be crop circle trained

100_9735.jpg100_9746.JPG

and some pics of the new light setup..they all seem to be loving the hell out of it...also a pic of guard kitty..the demon cat that watches over the grow box

100_9740.jpg100_9738.jpg100_9745.jpg

I second that, seems like a good idea!

this what i found about air pruning...this has been used for years by many gardening centers to keep plants that they sell have a longer shelf live in smaller containers...and make it easier to transplant after purchase......

An air-pruning propagation system is a low-cost, efficient method of propagating cuttings, seedlings or container plants for restoration projects. Air pruning happens naturally when roots are exposed to air in the absence of high humidity. The roots are effectively “burned” off, causing the plant to constantly produce new and healthy branching roots. If roots are not exposed to air, they continue to grow around the container in a constricted pattern. The roots may spiral, twist, kink or become strangled. When the plant is later installed it will likely fail to establish a normal root structure, and instead will have reduced uptake of water and nutrients. Eventually abnormal growth should be obvious and could cause the plant to fail. Damaged root systems also cause leaves to turn yellow or brown, shrivel or drop. Healthy, highly branched root structures allow a plant to more efficiently uptake water and nutrients while increasing growth and overall plant health. A strong root system will make a plant better able to establish itself when installed in a restoration project.
Advantages of air-pruning:

· promotes branched root systems

· encourages new roots to sprout

· prevents roots from spiraling

· prevents plants from becoming pot-bound

· plants may remain in pots, plugs or plant bands longer

almost all of my party cups has done the twist....the whole bottom of my cup has roots that just circle the bottom...so ill be doing it this way from now on for any plants i plan to transplant out of the party cups...hell it probably wouldnt be a bad idea on those that dont get transplanted also

doing a quick update for tonight...not too many pics..camera died before i got all the pics i wanted
all the newest plans are doing great...started training the second party cup tonight...so far the other has taken to it well..ill be training it more tomorrow...and the haze is growing nice...starting to get some real leaves forming.and tonight i cleaned the box fan outside the box thats blowing into it...i had a ona block type ripoff thing inside the fan...now i have not smelled the plants at all while having that in there...i just thought party girl was a strong smelling plant..well after about 3-4 hours...all i smell is sour/citrus/gasoline smell....not sure of the genetics of this plant...but this bitch has a overwhelming sour smell to it...guess i need to look into what strains are sour sativas...but here are the 3 new ones...ive got another party cup started and waiting for sprout on my heating pad...and some more seeds germing...i want to start 2 every 2 weeks till i fill the box completely up....but for now here is the pics

sour strains? i think sour diesel I think has mexican in it.
ahhh..well this is what i just found...i did a search of the traits my plant has...and the one that stood out the most is sour og.....here is some pics when she first went into flower...the leaf structure is almost identical...i think had i not had the ph issues right as it went into flower...this is what it would look like now...the colors of the bud is the same...the leaf ratio is the same...sour og is a sativa and has a sour/kerosene smell to it...which is exactly what party girl smells like...if i look at party girl from the under side of her...it looks just like that...but since the ph took all of her fan leaves...instead of the fan leaves absorbing all the energy..the side leaves on the bud add to grow out more to replace the fan leaves......

this is party girl at 2 weeks into flower....and a sour og....had party girl kept her leaves...im sure it would look like the sour og right now

100_9456.jpgSour_OG_1.jpeg

if you look at the edges of the leaves...how serrated they are...they are just alike

hmmm after further looking into..i think this might be what we have...this si up close pics of a sour og bud...and pics i took last night of some small popcorns i took off the bottom of party girl...if all the hairs was red..and the loss of dark green color during cure...they would look almost the same...and also...this seed came out of some really dank weed...we dont get too much shitty mex stuff down here...but these look damn close..im sure that what my buds will look like after i harvest

gonna do a mini update...will probably have 2 updates tonight....but for now ill cover the current pics...party girls info to come later....

i did some more training to the biggest party cup plant...its now about 1/4 way around the top of the cup...and its seems its growing much faster with the training...so i will probably be doing more training in 2-3 days...it will be tied around the top till it reaches the other side..so far it seems crop circle training can be done in a party cup..not causing that much stress and it seems to love it

100_9757.jpg100_9756.jpg100_9754.jpg

this is the other party cup...its been tied down once on the side and its standing up nice now...not growing as fast as the other...which is good..if the other one starts having issues ill be able to correct this one before something happens with it and its at the point the other one is.

100_9758.jpg100_9763.jpg

and the haze...cant be happier with her...growing nicely...getting new leaves in...great color..and this is a fem seed...so i dont have to fret about it being a male..im still at 100% females with all my fem seeds.in about another 2-3 weeks and she has a nice root structure she will be transplant into a one gallon bucket to be crop circle trained..i think thats gonna be the best way for me to grow with the height issues i have in my box....and i like how it shoots the side branches up..will make for some good clones...but its kinda like its making clones..just on the plant.

100_9759.jpg100_9760.jpg

party girl updates and pics later...got some work to do with her and waiting on my camera to finish charging
