Oh snap, I'm thinking another week and a half or 2 weeks on the KandyKush. Idk, we will see soon! Hairs are finally starting to receed and the lower buds seem like they might start getting amber in them! Have you looked @ party girl under the scope at all yet?
thats killer bro...thats going to be one hell of a harvest your gonna have...maybe i need to stop with all my experiments and start a real grow without all the trying of new stuff...and yeah..checking with a 45x scope everyday...learned some stuff about trichs and when its best to harvest certain strains...all cloudy trichs on this one so its ready

When should I harvest the Kush strain you think? I was thinking 10-20% amber at least :)

The experiments I'm sure will pay off when you get something a little bigger going!!! For now there cool as hell to watch and I like learning off them aswell!

i would need to look into some of the details of the strain...if its a dom indica then its really your preference...the more amber trich..the more sedative like it will be...with indicas i shoot for 50/50....but i like the lay you out make you sleep type herb.....and hell..half of these grows im trying out most should not have even lived through it...i try to see what all they can take...and i try all the questions that i cant find answers to out....ive done the large scale grow op...cant do that now...so its time to have some fun and make some frakengrows.....hahaha

this is some info that i found not too long ago...and it really makes since...this is more talking about sativas...but it would hold true for any type strain really....the turning of amber in the trichs is the thc degrading...which is lowering your thc..but bringing up the cbd...so sativas naturally will not have a high cbd..so if you wait for amber trichs..your losing thc...while its sativa traits wont let it gain to much cbd...so amber trichs is pointless on sativas which is more about a high thc level...where as on an indica its geared toward a higher cbd (couchlock) so as the amber trichs become more and more..the cbd goes higher...while the thc percent stays the same......but here is the thing i found to cover the parts i dont remember.....

The Growers Bible says that milky trichomes signals peak THC production. This suggests that light passed through heavy THC concentration produces a milky color. This is a physical effect that the THC molecule has on light, particularly how it refracts the light. Sodium has the effect of refracting the red light spectrum - this makes light passed through sodium appear orange or red. A polar Bear's fur is actually clear but refracts the light to make it appear white. Get the idea?
Amber trichomes most likely are caused by THC that is degraded into another chemical - one that refracts the light differently.
Anyway, it is the way the light is refracted that tells us what a substance is composed of. The belief that the THC is "more ready" when it changes colors just doesn't make sense.
In all likeliness, the more white a trichome is the higher the THC concentration. When they become amber, the THC has decomposed into IDK what. That is the way this type of chemical identification works.
Harvesting when trichomes are full milky is probably the best time. Amber trichomes means you waited too long.

i think thats why they always say that sativas are more a head high and indicas are more body high....if you harvest each plant with amber trich..then one would think it would end up all couchlock...but thats not the case

I agree with you, I don't let my trics get to amber.... when i see them all get cloudy i chop!! it ends up being 5-10% amber when the all get cloudy

thats true...im noticing on the buds that came off it last night that some of the trichs turned amber after they was plucked...think im taking party girl earlier then i thought...and it turns out i have fire inspectors coming either tomorrow or the next day....but fuck um...im not doing anything more then pushing my box back an extra 3 inches....the lights would normally be out during the times they are coming anyways...but i was gonna toss her into a few hours of darkness before chop...so i hope they come tomorrow so i can place her somewhere else before my lights turn on

update time...woo hoo....did some more training tonight to both of the party cups...they seem to love this shit...and i love that they are still barely out of the party cup..had i not tied them down they would probably been over a foot tall right now...but they seem to adapt well in that tight of a space with that training....i can see the side shoots are starting to really get some growth to them...also both look like they have some female preflowers...but way to early to tell....the haze is still doing good...no problems as of yet...another 2 weeks or so its going into a one gallon bucket to start her training...and its a fem seed...and so far ive had 100% success rate from all my fem seeds.and ive started another party cup..i purposely kept it a lil farther away from the lights...i wanted to give it a little stretch at the start to make it easier to tie down when its ready...but it has some funky looking leaves to it...i think the shell stuck to them as it was breaking out of the seed...but it should do ok

got some more updates.....party girl is now out of the box and in my closet for about 24 hours of darkness before i chop her...and since she is out of the box...i was finally able to redo my lights....ive now got 4 65 watt 6500k...2 26 watt 6500k...and 1 42 watt 2700k...thats 354 total watts....and let me tell you the fucking box is bright as hell...i now can get plants in and out without any hassles...and have plenty of room to move things around and add more...and now have about 2 1/2 foot of room above the lights to move them up as needed...they are getting light from every angle now....so they should love the veg phase now...slowly moving my timer up by an hour every night until its at a 18/6 cycle where im going to veg them all for another month then ill switch to 12/12...also will be adding another party cup or 2 every other week till i fill the box...but making sure i leave room for the bucket when the haze gets transplanted...and now the fun begins....woo hoo

got some pics of party girl...i cut the roots off from the net cup to help it start to dry out faster.ive had it in darkness for about 24 hours...but darkness with a kick...i was looking into the effects of uv rays on mj plants...i read that in defense of uv rays...the plant will produce more resin to try and shield and protect itself from uv light...so while it was in darkness it also had a uv-b light sitting about 4" away from it...and it seemed to really help...the resin on the calaxes almost doubled...it got frosty as hell...so im going to leave it overnight in my closet with the uv light again...i checked the roots in the cup and yeah...roots almost took over the cup...if it didnt start growing into the dwc..it might not have made it through flowering........i did a mini trim on it...gonna let it go into paper bags to dry with a few leaves still on it...then ill trim it before it goes into a jar to cure...then im going to cure with the RH cure method...but here is some pics...can really tell how much bud it was really hiding...the leaves was tight around the buds so it didnt look like there was much there..but after trimming the big leaves off it gives a good idea of whats going on...but enough rambling..here is some pics
