The boards in the hlg 550 are ran at 2300ma. The VF is around 51 VDC. So you are looking at about 117 watts per board.

@Stephenj37826 With these meanwell AB type drivers; I see the advantage for a CV driver, where if you'd normally get the A type to have the voltage adjust you'd also lose the ability to dim externally, now you get both abilities (right?). But what's the advantage for the CC drivers that are AB type? Does it add an internal voltage adjust potentiometer where there normally would be one or something?

If anyone know and could explain.

The Cc drivers are typically more efficient on amp draw ( look at thew data sheets ). I would go to HLG website QB Guide, Videos, Check out "LED Gardner's Video's. Ryan/Led Gardner is super informative.

Green crack as a run on under the 4 panel QB / COB rig I built awhile back .....

4 QB 304 “ OG “ quantum S5 boards ( 3500 k ) 480w - B driver dimmer control
2 Citizen COBs ( 3500k ) - 200w on B driver with separate dimmer control

OG boards are running good as expected ..... they have been running for 4 years under perpetual grow use.

Anyways this cookie idea came from my daughter seeing Halloween cookies online. I have 3 month cured bud that I keep for smoking and tincture ( glycerin ) drops made from them. Added to frosting mix and “ between “ Oreo ( paintbrush wipe ) of tincture.
Needless to say these cookies are freaking easier than hit to bust out. Daughter sketched out the “ monster ideas “ and we put together these treats. Added about 10mg dosage for medium tolerant peeps. Making holiday canisters for few friends

I jumped on one ...... had to.

Well , good body high and face numb ( lol ) so I think ( at least for me ) seemed a bit heavy but I did smoke thru out making them ..... so there’s that .

For heavy duty use I guess I could have a drop or two brushed on surface for intensity but I’m ok with where they are.

Alright guys I jumped the gun and ordered a 4 pack of the hlg qb132 v2 3000k quantum boards and I dont remember where I read something that gave me the idea that a meanwell hlg-320h-c2100a would be a good driver for it but I went ahead and ordered one...

I need help understanding the drivers because the lights just came in and said I could look up recommended boards for those lights and it looks like the driver might be a little more powerful than the ones recommended, looks like the most powerful one they recommend is a 240h-c1750.

Im under the impression that pushing 4 boards it will only give them each 60 watts, which might be great I don't really know these things... But would I be better off using the driver I already ordered and just dimming it? Seems like I could give the plants more light while still under driving them since they say max 75 watts, I could give them anywhere between 60 and 75 which I couldn't with the other driver right?

Also what kind of meter is used to test what those are put at?

The constant current driver will only supply 2100mA max to each board in series. It automatically only delivers the necessary DC voltage to achieve that current flow. Those boards will use approx 65-70w @ 21000mA so 4 of them will be about 275w-should be fine maxed out, just dim as required.

@TravisG13 I've seen folks running these in parallel too using the 2 QB132's per 240h-36

Those ledgardener meanwell driver videos are great. Don't forget, there's three parts to the main series though. And then there's at least one full video for A-type and B-type. Oh and there's a potentiometer and dimming video too iirc...

Put a weekend aside, by the time you finish the last video you'll have forgotten everything up until that point.
No seriously though, great videos, lots of information. You'll have to watch multiple times probably. Haha.

Are you using Jacks?

So the pcb can be powered to 75 watts max... It also says 2000ma max and 36+ vdc

If I have the driver dimmed to 2000ma or lower it will automatically put the voltage where it needs to be so that were not pushing over 75 watts, right?

Or either way it will adjust it to where its not pushing over 75 watts right? The amperage could just be higher than desired so I would want to dim that to 2000 or lower?

Megacrop V1 and Sweetcandy and some GP Massive in which was left over from my last regime. I have their Version 2 Megacrop V2.5, Sweet Candy, and Bud explosion in which I will start using next. I also use some Cal Mag/ Epsom salts but will stop with the V2.

THe little bit of silty product doesn't bother me. I am in Mokoko Coco which I have also been happy with. I went from 3 gallon promix/sunshine mix to 1 gallon coco with better yields growing mostly Pink Kush. I am mixing Qb288 V1's and QB96E's in which I have been very happy with.

Working on the QBs and new exhaust setups ....
Fall indoor runs and time to get some grows going ....

Black tent is running the OG S5 quantum boards ( qb304 ) 3500k and Citizen Cobs ( 3500k )
Upgrade Time !
Rewired remote drivers .... decided to run 2 out the 4 quantum boards separately on a HLG-240H-C2100 each in parallel.
So now I’m able to have 480w ( ~500 ) on tap to throw at 3x3 ..... however I need to swap out older slate 1 heatsinks
for extended power. COBs are still on a 120watt driver and is also dimmer controlled. Each dual 304 is dimmer controlled
( on top of rig ) and will be monitored at wall with KIL-A-WATT meters ( ordered 3 ) . So looks like I will have at least 620ish in watt of beautiful quantum goodness .

These S5 boards are 4 years old and have been extremely reliable.... running perpetually until the last few months while I hammered
out a NEW CONFIG. If there is some “new“ boards that catch my eye then maybe I will retire the S5 ... lol @Stephenj37826 .







Green tent has the Dual QB96 with T5HO lamps with uv bulbs ...
320watt rig .. so far I’m happy with it as is.



Happy King Kong Poison plants in there transplanted bags .



The Batwing rig I built a few years ago is also running OG S5 boards and may get
these 90cri QBs .... not sure or may build another rig. Current power is 320w 3500k.

I have four 132v2 boards sitting around I'd like to use. Can I run them on a 320h-c1400a? I also have a 240h-c1750a but wanted to run the boards at 75w each if possible with the 320h. Thanks guys!

Yes you can run them. The 320h-c1400 will run at 47 watts, and the 240h-c1750a will run at 60 watts.

QB304 tent

Decided to make the QB304 / COB rig do some veg duty due to the 3500k kelvin ...... adding a bump of more blue into their diet.
Mounted Clip fans but may MOD these because if their oversized clamps .... way too bulky. Powered down to 280ish and placed plants on a riser setup.

Plants are in layered no till soil ( dry ammended ) and are water only .......... just keeping shit simple.
