DIY with Quantum Boards

@TEKNIK it might be worth creating a solo thread for just this very concept and show the various work you are doing. That way you have the best chance at building some momentum and peaking interests. This thread is more meant for DIY QB's for the consumer purchase and assembly. Most of us are trying to help each other on driver selection, materials used, heat sinks, grow results, etc. Best of luck to ya!
Sorry for the spam
Will do cheers

Does anyone know how to connect 3 of the 800qb’s to a hlg-600h-48ab Meanwell? Of course these kits don’t come with instructions and the videos they have are for only 2 boards.

This thread is for HLG's QB boards, your is a Chinese rip off. I'm sure someone on this forum has a thread for these knockoffs. Look there

here knows anything about them

Took the plunge into led in between this long hiatus of mine. Cant grow yet but wanted to make sure everything was in working order. Anyhow, I followed this video;

My HLG-320H-54B has a dimmer wire/knob and not the screwdriver adjustable like his in the video. (His is an HLG-320H-C1750A? i think it says)

Other than that I followed the video to a T and my drunk ass cant figure out why I'm getting no light. Can I not run my driver in series?

I'm not the most electrical savvy so I thought this kit would be pretty much 10 minutes and done, but at the same time I'm not trying to fry anything expensive or start a fire or some shit, lol. Probably overly paranoid but I'd rather be certain.

I’m just curious, what’s the difference?
Clone boards offer various chip offerings , sometimes different than what you expect to receive. Most are mass produced for fast sale ... wonky communication, no real data on performance, fit and finish ( noticed one guys lifted connector on pic ) , solder mask , etc.

You really get what you pay for .... this is not to say you might get a good set of boards from someone over there , but I hear returns / service is questionable. At least with a stateside HLG , you can expect them to TEST product and service the customer base .
There are threads touting these clone boards but they are not real QB , they list them as such ( which is an alarm ) but they are not. I have seen grows working with them , they work for what they are but buyer beware. At least with HLG you will get EXACTLY what you ordered ..... both in electrically matched SETS and the latest offerings.

Simple 100k linear pot ( any electronic parts store ) ... soldering gun , wire and magic happens.

Ahh okay. Reading on the hlg site it says not to daisychain 4 boards (like example 2), but to go 2 and 2 instead. (Like example 1)
But that is okay if I'm running 3 boards?
This won't cause the first board to handle a large current that could reduce life of board's electrical trace? Or is that only with 4 boards?
Just make sure I'm understanding that info and diagram correctly.

Very much appreciated!
Different wiring configurations require different voltage and current needs, some drivers only work with some configurations.

The difference is we KNOW HLG uses real Samsung chips. Many of those Chinese copies say Real Samung chips, are anything but... The copies boards are thinner, dissipate less heat. They are cheaper because they use cheap components. And hope you don't need to warranty them, good luck with that!

You pay a little more for a superior product when you buy from HLG, and NOBODY gives better customer service! Show me another light manufacturer here with a thread almost 700 pages long, that alone should tell you how many people are happy with these lights!

I’m just curious, what’s the difference?

QBs and Megacrop, what a combination! The Blue Dragon I grow is my own cross and I'm seeing the biggest buds ever on them! I grow at least one almost every grow since I made the cross 4 years ago. The buds of this crop are the finest buds ever! Now I grew some in the other tent under my COB light, and they were excellent and also Mega fed, but this grow is even putting them to shame!

I'll be growing some photo periods next under the QBs and I'm planning to finally build my other lights to do vertical scrog with. I'm sitting on at least 10 QBs!
