DIY with Quantum Boards

ok well i have only one board on the way to play with can i power this with a hlg-185-1400 i know that its wasting 50 watts but i think i have one around.
great looking builds
Yes you can use that driver with a single board or 2 or more boards in parallel.
You are not wasting 50 watts :) Think of it as a safety Margin, driver will run cooler and last longer. AT RIU people like to max out the driver. However you do not have to always max out the driver. In commerical lighting maxed out driver is not a good thing.
hlg-185-1400 will work better with 2 boards compared to a hlg-120-1400.
Also you can add Reb/Blue Monos on the same driver in series with that driver. So great choice on driver.

Geez guys. I need to get off this thread. Thank you @robincnn and @Stephenj37826 for your help - My inexperience with LEDs kind of confused me - the Bridgelux show up as the highest Lm/W but they aren't the highest output. The Samsung look like they are - which you already knew. Thanks again!
I'm gonna keep crunching these tables to find the cheapest configuration.
Strips good for lower power. Look for good output , price too. Bridgelux seems new in strips game with less options. samsung and lumiled has been there for a while and have lot of options.
Some lumiled LUXEON XF-3535 flexible strips have a 3M tape on back and can be pasted. I could never figure out their connector.
most of the hard strips come with push it connector.

This is a small mobile Herb garden idea.
Using an old Samsung strip with 24V driver. 32.4 watts at wall

A similar bigger system can be implemented using strips or even the QB304 board if you need power and have multi level system.

2 slate heatsinks on top. Should work well if i put 2 boards in there with HLG-80H-700 and remove the middle shelf. Will have plenty of power for some nice big plants.

I want one. Maybe two
When will they be back in stock
And what's the ppfd come out to in a 2x2 with only one 90w panel
Sorry if it's in the thread somewhere
90W kit. They will ship 3rd or 4th Jan.
Pre orders will start1st Jan.

in the 2x2x4 tent single driver.
600ppfd is the calculated PPFD
I get around 250ppfd at bottom of tent that is 27 inches from lamp
300-350ppfd at canopy of small herbs. goes as high as 500ppfd 12 inches from lamp and higher 750-800 as i get closer to lamp.

Godamnit ... Was just went to pull the trigger on 4 more and sold out. :wall:
I got plans ....... LOL

Anyways ... Big jump in growth ( main stalk ) Blue Dream with the QB build .
Lovin it ! Considering this build is one board project it is kickin ass. The spread alone is impressive ( reflective tent ) with VERY LITTLE SHADOWING.
( trust me on this .... My pics suck and it really doesn't represent how well lighted tent is ).
My ipad sucks ass on photos apparently. Fuck :cuss:

My build runs a cool 68° in tent ( 18/6 schedule ) ...

I like it ! and love the little to no shadowing aspect. I had to pop some beans sooner than I thought as mine are bulking and putting on a lot of growth.

It is really something to " actually " see a difference in plant growth , even daily .
My GG auto and Bubble bomb ( in tent also ) has all leaves at horizontal.
My NEXT build will be a 4 panel ( HLG 185 1400b ) .... The beauty of these boards are they are totally UPSCALABLE by just swapping out the driver. I'm using the 185 1400b because i have that on hand. Later after seeing how well things are going i'm gonna go for HLG 320 for the win ...

68 f? Amazing. The boards are okay for veg and flower? That on plant is really stretching. Awesome setup on for a tent. Cool as a cucumber too.

Somewhere in the depths I think it was said these boards are 3000k color but because of the chips more like 3500k in color @robincnn ? From my understanding 3500 is the middle ground and gives the best of both in one application. I don't see any problems of these producing in flowering. MMJ I'm no COB expert so take anything I say with a grain of salt. My grows with these lights are considered on the newbish level compared to most.

I vegged too with closer to 3500 K when I needed an extra light. It seemed to work fine as long as you go 18/6 or 24/0. If you go 12 on and 12 off then the plant is gonna start to flower. I also do not have the highest level of expertise versus others here. I do have a Sensei who thinks pro growers only use HPS.

I am dying to see how everyone here is doing in Flower with the QB boards about 3 to 4 weeks down the road.
