DIY with Quantum Boards

I grew up seeing peat being harvested just outside town all the time. There are peat moss companies there and have been for generations. We picked 5he live moss. In the British Isles, I believe they still use it for fuel, a lot of it. There really are vast areas of sphagnum peat moss in North America. I am not one unconcerned with environmental issues at all but I use peat with a very clear conscience.

That's why I get my grow media from a rockwool bog.

Read a bit about this a while back and it is interesting but they also are sure proud of it. Years ago I tried replacing perlite with par boiled rice hulls that were supposed to be a long lasting replacement. 90 days and they disappeared. I've not seen anyone using it yet. If I was younger I might be more interested in other mediums but I know peat well and how it acts.

here are the hanging basket plants growing in the corners on just diffused light. BTW, a friend, who I got the idea from, just harvested a Colorado Cookies from a basket like this. 80 grams dry! I'll be happy with anything I get, this is free weed IMO!

In the tent with the Mod420 and a QB304

Hello fellow DIYgrowers
Im new to riu dont know ive i have to introduce myself but in a nuttshell
Im from holland and been growing for 4y now. I like to diy and tried many things.
Now im almost on the quantumboardtrain

Last year i had 9x cxa2540 and 5x blurple cob chips. So total of 14 cobs x 30w = 420w from the wall. 1 amnesia in a 80x80cm tent with a dutch bucket system.
Yield was 0.9gr/w. So 1 plant with 380gr dry candy. This was my best grow ever.

My current grow is in the 6th week of flowering. Using 16x cxa2540 @30w pcs and no blurple lights. Im really excited to see how much i can yield. Aiming for 1gr/w.

After this grow its time for something else. Would sell my cxa fixture and buy something more efficient.
Now... i've read about 200 pages and there is a lot of info to find but im not conficed about what to buy so im gonna aks you guys what would your thought on the next setup:

120x120x200cm mylar grow tent (i think thats a 4x4)
10x qb304 3000k
2x hgl-320h-c2800b

I do not want to add heatsinks so i want to run 5 boards in parallel. About 60w a pcs so 600w in total and dimmable for veg.
Aiming for 800ppf.

Ooorrrr.... 12x cxb3590 3500k @50w pcs...

What is the best way to go? Will this be enough for 5 plants in scrog??
Many thanks ahead for any answer.

If you're going to run the boards at 60w to avoid having to use heatsinks, why not just buy QB120s? They're significantly cheaper, and run at 60w without a heatsink.
