So maybe they need to get people to drop a deposit and really get an idea how many boards they actually need.
Pretty sure that the more they order the cheaper they would be too.
Wouldn't be very hard to throw something up on their website with a counter. Maybe even be able to promise them at a discount rate if the pre order number is reached.

And it's not really about mobs screaming they want it now... some of us were locked out of the last batch because of where we live and then tonight.
Not cool
These are excellent ideas, especially the deposit. This could help with the other issue, having enough cash up front to place bigger orders.

The per board price doesn't fall with volume nearly as steeply as you might think.

Getting an advance idea of demand is also helpful.

At the moment it's too much like a lottery and the resultant hurt feelings of the 'losers' is not good customer service, even with the very best of intentions.

How many boards will that shipment be? If people knew that, they could plan accordingly.

I'd also be willing to put up a modest deposit if the issue is HLG does not have sufficient cashflow for a run sufficient to meet demand. But the issue might be that there isn't currently the manufacturing capacity to make as much of this gear as needed to meet demand.

@Stephenj37826 or @robincnn what's the scoop? What is your current thinking regarding the timing of the future availability of additional runs, and the size of those runs? It would be great to know what you guys are thinking.

Also, what can we all do to help you guys increase the availability of these boards?

HLG is furiously trying to bootstrap itself into a position to satisfy the explosion of demand for its products.

Deposits solve several issues; cash flow, order quantity, who gets product first and where people are in the queue.

Ok, well I could get 4 more 288 boards I guess. When they become available.
I bought 2x 260w kits, add 2 more boards to each driver when they become available, and have 8 total.
What you guys think about that setup? I'm not to keen on the electricity output aspect. But I think that may run my 5x5.
If I run 4 boards on each of the 240hlg drivers, there would be some light degradation, correct?

This is for @robincnn and @Stephenj37826 .....
In spite of all the hype and demanding customers ( i know how that shit is ) , just much thanks for a job well done on your tech. It's pretty eye opening how many growers are flocking to these legal paper sized boards. Hard headed bulb growers are now re-thinking setups and brainstorming rigs around these.

From your tomato growers to weed warriors , we appreciate your efforts . The funny thing will be that everything that will come from your labs , will be jumped on. Kinda like apple when they first released the Iphone.

Gen 1 then improved generation tech after that. So anyways , thanks guys and all of your staff working on QB.

This Lemon Thai shit makes me kinda misty ... Lol sorry . *cloud

I run 8 boards, total of 670W from the wall and it's plenty of light for a 4x6' trellis panel.

So far, it's just the two of them. Did I mention they've forgotten what their beds feel like?

I got a 288 board going to use the Slate 1 heatsink I have spare and an HLG185H-C1050b. Going to run it in one of my small cabs, the 22"x20"x48" I'll be toasting them even at 50 watts lol!
Missed the bus and bought a 288 as well.
I only have room for 1 in my clone-grow room and was
wondering if the HGL185-C1050 is the least driver you could go with or
what other driver for a single board?

I'm running a HLG-120H-C1400 for 3 boards (which is a bit weak)
and wondering if I can swap it to run my single 288 board without damage and
buy something bigger for the 3 panel set up.

Never saw the guide on the board reference page.
Sorta answered my question about running a single board.

I'm running 4 boards on one driver for 360 watts total in a 4x4. PLENTY of light and the proof is it took a so so plant and turned it into a beauty! And everyone here using them is in learning curve mode. WE are the guys testing and proving these lights. Personally, I think you'd be crazy NOT to get the boards. degraded light??? I've no clue what you mean but these boards even run soft are kicking ass. You've seen enough of whats growing to know the potential here, quit riding the fence!
