DIY Smokebuddy quality sploof

I googled how does a smokebuddy work and it works via activated carbon. Charcoal = Carbon
You will need:
Plastic empty water bottle
A barbecue charcoal briquette
Hammer or a smashing tool
Scissors or a cutting tool
Sock
-optional-Coffee filter or some sort of porous paper
-optional-vinegar and baking soda
-optional-rubber band

Get a single charcoal briquette for barbecuing and put it in a long, thick sock. Get a hammer and pound the sock where the briquette is until it's nice and fine and powdery(some very fine powder may come out of the sock, thats okay, you aren't loosing anything).

Now get an empty water bottle and cut about 4 or 5 evenly-spaced-out slits on the bottom edge of the bottle. Now you can blow through it. Next, get some paper towel or dryer sheets in there and press it across the bottom to make sure there aren't any clear-open slits. Don't overpack or it will be hard to blow through when you put your charcoal in. I only used a few small strips of 1 paper towel.

Next, make a simple funnel with paper and pour the charcoal in. You should get about an inch to a few centimeters of charcoal/carbon in there. I was doing a little thinking and thought maybe you need to have something bubbly or sizzley or any kind of chemical reaction in general to "activate" the carbon. So this is optional but I recommend it.

Do all of this over a sink, outside or have the bottom of the sploof over a cup or something. Get a TEAspoon of baking soda and drop it in. Get roughly a TABLEspoon of vinegar and pour it in. Let everything calm down and stop sizzling. Now, grab the sploof and start firmly tapping the bottom to pack the carbon down and let it dry for a minute or two. If you do this, wipe off the top or it will taste gross

After blowing through mine at this point there was still little charcoal fragments coming through the bottom so I put a coffee filter(any kind of highly porous paper that air easily gets through will work) on the bottom and fastened it on with a rubber band.

Not sure how well it works with marijuana smoke but it works really great as a solder fume filter.
