DIY small air conditioner

Well I would edit and remove posts but I don't have that option for most of my posts except for recent ones. Otherwise I wouldn't have said shit and I would have spent an hour and edited all my posts to have no info. I'm not sure the time period but it seems it could be 24 hours to edit. I'm totally unsure of that.

A taunt of + rep does nothing for me as I'm not interested in the hierarchy of RIU.org considering many of people with higher reps don't actually help anyone they just post snide comments on other peoples threads. The attitude of these people have turned me off to the idea of contributing. If you can't respect that then I suggest you don't post in reply to me ever. If you can get passed your own feelings I'm sure there will be no problems.

You may be doubtful but I'm old enough to be on here. I don't feel I need to prove myself to you honestly.

it is a good mcgyvered invention and it helped me out as i only need to lower my temps a few degrees thanks.

Likely but with shipping it would be probably be about the same. It was just an experiment, proof of concept if you will but it works okay. I posted it here as the concept is similar but doesn't require the ice. Actually I have a secret agenda to spur innovation....

I've bought them at retail stores for $88 (the smaller units).

A window AC maybe, but the portable AC's are usually $250+ new

I have used coolers with axial fans running on inverters when camping when I do not have AC power and need to run off 12V solid idea of drawing ambient air across a cold surface, ice, frozen water bottles etc. and out through a vent tube. I use one that will cool a camping tent by about 4 degrees works well but never needed to use one in a growing environment

well instead of using just regular ice cant you use dry ice being frozen c02?probbly help a little bit more if it did'nt get too cold.

I would either use reusable ice packs, or water bottles. Maybe 2 liters if they fit. Remember that whatever you put in there will build condensate and "sweat"

I've done this before...just different materials...and like metrognome said, I used reusable ice packs...Problem that I ran into was it caused my humidity to rise...that was cool in veg but in flower, I couldnt have that....But all in all...IT DOES WORK!!! Lowered my temps by almost 10*....rose my humidity by almost 25% thoug...Good post OP

Classic example of why I seldom post here. You take the time to ask a question or post something and about 80% of the comments you get will either have nothing to do with your question or they're just comments on how big of a noob you are.
