DIY rack template

would this be a thing? might be better than shipping aluminum all over the planet and allows you to make a whole rack with very few measurments

would include plans, a small template and a spring punch to mark all the holes to make a universal rack for 110/120/140 mm heatsinks. the template has every hole you would need to drill to make a 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 rack including:

end holes for the bottom base rails
end holes for the top rails that hold the heatsinks
side holes for mounting heatsinks to frame
the holes on the ends are for left and right ends of members

the holes around the center are for middle rails. in other words if you are making a 4' x 4' with 9 cobs youd put CL mark at 24" and mark all your holes out

or if you were making a 4' x 4' with 16 cobs youd do it about 16" and 32"

heres the 2x2 rack i made yesterday in the process of making the template (missing middle rails but accommodates 9 heatsinks). I'm gonna bang out a 3'x3' using that template and see how long it takes me. you can see the side holes near the end can mount a 110 or a 120 or a 140 tight to the edge. center holes are easy just one on center. and then you can see the bottom rails have multiple holes to slide the top rails for different heat sink diameters
