Good afternoon,
Trying to find the answer but the Cree Charactorisation tool not working.

I have 2 36v cxb3590. If they run at 1050amps. Will they be ok.
Driver is HLG-240H-C1050A:
Thank you
You can fit 6 of them on that driver son. 2 isn't enough to even work efficency at all. I'm not sure there's even enough forward voltage with just 2 to meet its min requirements. In fact after looking, you cant. You need at least 119 or 4 3590's to even run that driver. If you want 1050 for just 2, you need a hlg120 series, and even THAT is pushing your luck. The min for that one is 74v and 2 only amounts to 72. But you could MAYBE get away with it. Someone else could chime in to be sure.

as he said above no

even the hlg 120-C1050 is too powerfull for you, you could use the 120-c1400 and keep it dimmed

you need to use a dif series of driver though- is this a pc grow?
why not just search for dimmable drivers in the 65-100w range(sure there is a 75w one out there) and sort by cheapest 1st?

Thank you for the quick response, just got back, and first chance to respond.
I've ended up getting a new driver and an extra cob.
Issue was I had first blow my first 2 72v cxb3590 plugging the COBs directly to power. 240v. Lasted 2 seconds. I lasted longer when I lost my virginity lol ;)
Second 2 just ship them selves when I was moving the plug around comparing brightness to the other two cobs and the Mars 2 fixture. Guess they don't like being plugged and unplugged multiple times.
Which takes me to asking the question because the cobs I picked where now 36v not 72v.
Long story. But small steps getting there. Light is now operational and not going to touch it. Lol :)

Again thanks.

A question for power supply.I think I can power 5 cxb3590 with a mean well 240H-C1400A,could someone comment on calculations?

Meanwell hlg 240H-C1400A,A is adjustable current from 0.7-1.4amps,has a voltage output from 89-179 and wattage of 249.

If my calculations are correct,I can power 5 cxb3590 36 volt for 5(36)=180 total forward volts and total wattage is 252=180(36).
Since each cob runs on less than 36 volts staying under 179 volts and 249watts shouldn't be any problems.

Ya want the 'B' model as that has dimming leads HLG - 240H -C1400B
but yes IIRC it's - 5 each 3590 @ 56% 50 watts per cob
there is a chart that matches drivers & cobs that you can dbbl check yer sefl
on the https://www.rollitup.org/t/matching-drivers-and-cobs.883866/page-6 thread

You'll be perfect. Good job.

Another question:

The chart ,driver matching, has estimated prices of let's say 185H-C1400,but with no A/B after 1400.
Are the prices of a C1400 and 1400A going to be close to same?
The reason I ask the price drops with the choice of A,unless shipping is where profits are made???
I see cxb3590 being run on currents from 0.7-1.4,is there an ideal current for effiency?

What is the difference between driving at 0.7amps vrs let's say 1.4?
I've seen some driving 3590 with 0.7 and then others at 1.4?
1.4 going to burn brighter?Which would make much sense.

I paid $56 each for my 185h-c1400b (the 'A' is the same price ) flat rate shipping of $8 for 7 of them
the 1400 runs 4 3590 @ 56% efficient approx 50 watts per cob

Where to find hlg240-1750 or 2100 ?? Are they the same as 240-15 or 240-20?

Not the same. The 1400,1750,2100 are constant current. The 20,36,42-'s are constant voltage. Someone once said they are constant current to a certain amperage then switches to voltage. Can't remember specifics though.
And yes, 700ma will be half as bright as 1400 and 1/3 of 2100.

B version was the only one they had. She said 2100 come in the 5th and 15th. Im going to try to run 4 veroo29 on it.

Got a question that I'm having a hard time finding an answer for so I thought I'd try my luck here. I have ordered all of the components for a vero 29 light I want to build. I ordered 4 Vero 29 leds, a mean well 185h-c1050b, mean well apv12-12, and 4 arctic alpine 64 plus cpu coolers. The fans on those coolers are 4 pin fans that are meant to be controlled by pwm from a computer. Does anyone know if theres a simple way to connect a potentiometer or something to the apv12-12 so that I can control the fan speed manually and not have them maxed out all the time?

They have volt switches that control from 3,6,9,12 you'd wire inbetween from wall plug and the ac side of the 12-12.
