People like to run 3590 at max 1.4 amps.
running 2.1 on 3590 dont make sence as they have higher temp droop and lose efficiency. Not sure what you are after, would recommend vero if you want 6 cobs giving 500 watts.
if u still want 80 watts per 3590, single driver per cob or wait for HLG240h-c2100.
Trying to figure out what would be best. So i can be done on its own single drivers? I have been hearing alot about vero how is it compared to the 3590? Im new to this just figureing out the proper driver kinda confuses me. Was thinking npf120-42.

Vero29 is much cheaper and when driven hard it's about as efficient as 3590. When driven soft 3590 is way to go.

Hi all,

when powering a 4x CXB3590 with a HLG-185-1400 driver I've discovered that one of the cobs don't work, I've checked all of them and seems that only this one is defective. It's gone. What should I do now? Could I run only three cobs in series?

May I use 2 Vero29 to substitute the broken one (or others CXA, CXB)? I would like to have confirmation that could run with the same driver without electrical problems.

I have 4 little heatsink (one for cob) and a fan on every one of them.
I was just doing testing on series connection when I discovered that this one had problems.

Now it's everything off, because I don't know if running only three could make things worst.

BTW, I must get another COB to restore the expected setup, and now I could buy only some Vero29 or CBX3070 as backup.

I need by your experts - if possible - confirmation that really could be done, before spending again.
just do the Vf calculation (sum of Vf <= Voltage of constant current driver) and add in whatever cob, led that will bring the total Vf to the range that you need. #STUDY

Yes it will be powerful enough to harass and beat a single 3590with 2.8amps. But users here will banish you for the crime of torturing 3590.

You will see at 2.8 amps their efficieny is almost same. so save money and drive vero 29 with npf120-42 or spend more get 3590 and drive softly(0.7 to 1.4 amps) for higher efficiency. Also consider npf-120d-42, whichbis dimmable version. Good luck

Is it only stressfull if i cant keep the heat under control? Or the amount of amps im putting torwarda the chip?

Both. But this case assumes the same temperature for both 3590 and V29.
Unless you want to do a single-COB setup, consider the possibility of using a larger driver with multiple COBs. They're much more affordable.
Ive been thinking of liquid cooling. But never see anything on them im meaning the closed loop system. Use em in my pc keeps the cpu chip cool ovetclocked.
