I've actually been wondering about solar powered cobs.

If power from a solar panel is already DC could you not get away with running power from a panel to something to regulate voltage/current and then just plug in your string?

Then you wouldn't need to buy any meanwells at all. Or an inverter for than matter.
what you would need then is a constant current buck driver.

I'd guess you could but when the clouds come over yer pooched till they go away
If you had a storage bank of deep draw batties but then I'd be off the grid
being on Grid is good ,i get credit for any overages

a map I can follow , recipe I nail them , built my own 32' x 22' greenhouse
math & the others not there .

In the Netherlands they found a cannabis grow using solar panels. The news article claimed they were completely off-grid. Somehow i doubt it though since the Netherlands really isn't that sunny. Or perhaps they had a healthy over capacity in solar panels and a large array of batteries.

There are also those "solar tubes". A reflective tube to transport the light and a window on top of it. They claim a 30cm tube would be equivalent to a 500W light. That sounds dumb since you normally need light when it's dark, but this is meant for rooms that have no windows. Like basements even.

You could grow your plants indoor under sunlight using those :)

guys, I'm wiring my cobs now, but one thing is elluding me
I have a Meanwell driver HLG-120H-C1400(B) + 3x cobs 3590 36v, but I have no potentiometer / dimmer.
how do i connect the blue & white wires? I want 100% power

Seal them so they don't touch anything and leave them disconnected and you'll get something between 102% and 108%.

Has anyone tried a 100K Potentiometer with a built in switch? What I am finding is a lot of the potentiometers are only registering 90K when I test them. If the pot had a switch that was wired to be open, you could get the 102% when needed.

Would this work? or just wire a switch in the circuit of a normal pot?
I am getting 100K pots at around 90K too. I just add a 10K resistor in series. But this seems like a good idea.

someone said put in a resitor that does yer veg % & then add a switch
that gives you 100% & what ever value % by the resistor
what value I have no idea , somebody else might
