Most recent batch came in over 1.36gr/W, will update when the last lady finishes drying. Averaged dissipation was 611W of CXA3070 3000K AB passive cooled, running at 700-900mA with a few red/blue strings of luxeons mixed in. The catch is, it took 9 weeks to finish this time. Maybe because of the slightly higher summer temps or maybe because of the 3000K spectrum (less deep red).

Reserva Privada - Kandy Kush - 75.97
Cali Connection - Purple Chem - 44.2
TGA - Qleaner - 85.47
Sin City - Alien Nightmare - 47.06
Sin City - Nightmare OG - 82.33
Sin City - Rappers Delight - 80.71
Sin City - SourJefe 92.42
Reservoir - SSSDH (Shire cut) - 56 (estimated)
TH Seeds - Sage n Sour - 68.4
TH Seeds - Darkstar - 38.7
DNA - La Chocolat - 80.12
DNA - Stacked Kush - 80.62

For the ladies that came in with low numbers it was not necessarily their fault. Squeezing 12 under 600W was pushing my luck, so some of them received a lot more light than others. Ideally I would use 10 ladies for that wattage, or for 12 I should add another pair of 50W modules. Also, some were vegged up bigger than others.
Very nice brother! Yields keep going up...must be doing something right.
How is the nightmare OG? I really want a dream/OG cross.
And what size of space are you rocking

THNX homey. From what I can tell so far the NMOG was not particularly frosty but does have the OG smell and good smoke IMO. I had higher hopes, but it was just one bean so I can't judge too harshly. The Rappers Delight has good flavor and is a decent OG. The Alien Nightmare very frosty but it is a sweet flavor with no OG. The Kandy Kush very nice, awesome OG funk, sticky, rock hard and good yield.

The space is about 6'X7' but the canopy is about 4'X5'. They are DIY tents so I made them big enough to go inside and walk around the canopy. Thanks to the flexibility of the LED I have been trying to expand the canopy space:

The next batch has some Rare Dankness, Lee Roy and Scotts OG, both seem like they are going to be awesome. The Lee Roy is very frosty and strong OG funk. The scotts seems like it will be a good yielder and has a fuel OG smell.

Yum nice nugs ffh! The cooler weather is coming in here now so it will be interesting to find out if it was the temp or the spectrum that slowed things down. I am willing to wait 9 weeks in some cases but like you said it is not necessary.

Thanks for the info Supra, really appreciated! About the bin, how do you guys know which bin is the best? i see that the z2 and z4 bins are good on the 3k cob's but i cant find the bin info for anything else. I am kinda lost in all of this tech data here lol. Oh which drivers did you end up liking the best? Thanks again for all the info and hard work.

Longer flowering? 9 weeks instead of?
As I have notoriously admitted, my average yield from HPS was about .4gr/W over a period of several years. So 1.36 is quadrupling efficiency and the COBS can produce a much higher overall yield from the same space. I would have been happy with 1g/W so I am blown away by the efficiency.
 Relax, 1.36 gpW comes down to 1.21 after normalizing to an 8? week flowering period. Deep? red seems to change the ratio of ripening of colas vs. more bud grow towards ripening and by that shortening of flowering time up to the extreme of to early yellowing fan leaves. (Not based on personal experience, just summarizing my reflections on what I read here)

@Growerx2014 ....
For the 3000K
Vero29 350mA 39.5% (from vF curve rather than chart)
Vero18 350mA 39.8%
Vero13 350mA 35.6%
Vero10 350mA 33.3%

It is interesting that for the first "current category" in their charts, the efficiency is about the same:
Thanks. The ratio of efficiency when comparing different COB sizes at 350 mA matches nicely in between similar numbers derived from lm/W values at 25C and 85C published by Bridgelux in PSG-030-Vero-Selection-Guide-2013.07.15.pdf. I found that document after my initial posting on that matter.

... and furthermore is indicating the point of diminishing returns when considering to underdrive a Vero. CXA3070 at 350mA is a reasonable option, Vero 29 at 350mA not.
I will combine the Vero 18 for the 290 mA driver.

OK guys, has anybody come up with a good watts per sq/ft number for vegging. I've got 4 CXA3070 4000k AD's coming and they need to cover 11 sq/ft. Just trying to figure out which driver to get,I was thinking 700ma. Anybody done a spread sheet on these 4000k AD's?

Look in the Cree sheets for how many lumens 4kK ADs put out and compare them to a bin you have numbers for. Use the same ratio to scale the numbers to AD bin.

also, IIRC Cree bins are each 15% more efficient than the last and have the same lm/w criteria for all products. 3070 ADs are as efficient as 3590 ADs (which is the lowest bin?)
