i live in a warm, sticky humid asian city with protests and police beatings as we speak ;) trying to keep the whole cabinet low heat, ideally fanless but for the extra spendings on two fans i figure it's worth it overall.

this is all going inside a stealthy 2'x2.5'x4.5' cabinet ala

Dear Supra, mates,

I want to DIY the solution for my cabinet which is 1200*600*2500mm. Basically my need is a lamp which will cover the full square. I red about the overlightining so want to know more about the appropriate wattage/lm per square meter/foot. I am choosing in between the Cree (3070) and Bridgelux (vero 29). The second ones are less efficient but cheaper. will 2 cree be enough to cover the area? want to go with 4k color as the most optimal imho.
I posted par #'s of a 2'x4' setup with ( 8 ) 3070's @1050ma.

You might be able to get away with ( 4 ) vero29s @ 2100ma but I think it better to have more driven at a lower current for more even coverage.

How close can you guys get these lights to your canopy? I burned my ladies already totally my fault having to much power over them. Now I have 6 3070 at 1400ma over 4x3 area, looking much better.

Led-and driverporn! Thanks to @SupraSPL with his great advice and calculations.

I received all parts to build a ledsystem that contains 55 leds (cxa3070 AB's of course) running @38 watts each. Total of 2090 watts and I have enough spare parts to increase to a total of 2660 watts @38 watts each.

I am Using the HLG-185H-C1050A as driver and a lot of Artic 11 pro's as cooling. For my first build I was using Iceleds of Mechatronixs but they make too much noice and the leds were running too fast @1550ma. The Artic 11 is very quiet and suits my needs better because sometimes my current build makes too much noise to be stealthy. When my girlfriend was here, I used to turn of the fans but that resulted in the breakdown of about 7 leds (some are still working however). The 35 Iceleds are going to be used in the new build, but I am going to run them softer @ 9 volts.

Yesterday I broke up with my girlfriend, so I have a lot of free time to spend on this build. Yess..

Wow that is a seriously sweet setup! 47% efficient using the typical numbers, and top efficiency CC driver. I think it would outyield 4000W HPS. Looks like you will be drowning in weed soon :leaf:
Thanks, 2090 watts outyield 4000 watt HPS? Wow....it costs a small fortune, I hope I will harvest more than last time. I can buy all kinds of cool stuff but much depends on the quality of the grower. I still need to learn very much.

@happy my girlfriend recently started ignoring me completely and have no idea why. Was going to have to shut down the grow to move in together, now I don't have to. So I got that going for me which is nice. Up until the cold shoulder treatment I was choosing the girl over the grow. Oh well. Looks like you have plenty of toys there to keep you busy for a little while. Wish I had the Christmas present money back to buy more leds myself.
