I could build a 50w Cree XTE veg panel for around $40-45 or a 100w for $20 more.........this is getting silly... :)

I wonder though, for 5W chips on those "rails", would you need some sort of fan to help cool those COBs and how many COBs would you line up on a given rail? I'm curious. The " 'Best Budget Cree LED panel build ' " has got me thinking about my next project :razz:

Also, i want to use a LED driver in the 1.5-1.8A range, any suggestions for good value LED driver?

Just came in today, 27 days to arrive. I also got a few heavy duty heatsinks today so I hooked up the alleged AB to a heatsink, a 1.4A driver and checked it against a known AB and a known Z4. It actually outperformed the known AB slightly and clearly outperformed the Z4, by about 7%. I would like to test a few more COBs from them to confirm this but there is one problem, the seller (Amelia Liu) has changed to ad and it no longer specifies any part number (maybe because of my warning that I was going to test it?)

Yeah, they might try to pull one over on us, i also implied that i know someone that put in a test order, and if everything checked out, there would be several orders.
In afterthought, that wasn't a good idea :roll:

I'm building five CXA3070's for a 2.6'x2.6' tent.(and one for a 2'x2' veg tent)
Does anyone have a suggestion, on how to build the fixture?

*I'm going to use 1.4A for the drivers, recommendations?
*Recommendations for COB holder? (going to use arctic alpine 11 plus cpu cooler)
*What more do i need?
*How do i wire the power cord?
*Is there a way for me to avoid having to solder?
*Easiest way to power the fans?

Sorry for all the noob questions! But i know nothing about this stuff, and i was a little more confusing than i had anticipated :shock:
If anyone has a video, or a detailed log, off building the whole thing, that would be great!

I was in the same boat you are now about 6 months ago, take it slow, keep reading and you will get it piece by peace.

*How do i wire the power cord? Loaded question, most wont touch this because if you burn your house down they dont want to be a party to the fiasco. Get an electriciasn is the stock answer.
*Is there a way for me to avoid having to solder? Wago's, but i learned how to solder in 5 minutes
*Easiest way to power the fans? Old laptop charger and (gulp) solder
